Milan starlet M'Baye Niang has expressed his delight following his man of the match performance against Sampdoria at the weekend, where the Rossoneri battered the visitors 4-1.

Niang scored a brace and picked up an assist over the course of the game and duly recieved a standing ovation from the San Siro as well as gaining many plaudits.

The 20-year-old Frenchman grabbed his first goals in the red and black of Milan and admitted that he'd waited a "long time for a night like this." 

"All the hard work paid off and I hope to continue like this" he continued before adding that Milan must keep the same mentality and attack and defend as a unit like they did against Sampdoria. 

The youngster also thanked co-striker Mario Balotelli for the congraulatory post-match text message he recieved.

Abbiati heaps praise on Donnarumma

Veteran Milan keeper, Christian Abbiati has labelled the 16-year-old, now first-choice keeper as "exceptional."

Abbiati, who is in fact old enough to father Gianluigi Donnarumma, also exclaimed that sitting on the bench didn't bother him on Saturday as it was a sign that the club, in his eyes have a "great group," he further said how he "enjoyed the celebrations."

Abbiati also believes that "the Lord looked down on him ( Donnarumma ) and said 'you need to be a goalkeeper.'"

The three time Scudetto winner and one time Champions League winner with the club has yet to make an appearance this term and has little over half a year remaining on his current deal.

Milan host Serie B outfit Crotone in the fourth round of the Coppa Italia this evening in what should be a formality for the five time winners and both Niang and Donnarumma will be expecting to continue on in the starting XI.
