Axel Witsel has been the talk of most transfer window speculation over the past 2 seasons. The Belgium international has most recently been on the radar of Premier League clubs and also in Serie A. With one year left on his current contract with Zenit St Petersburg. Witsel is ready to consider his options at seasons end.

In a recent interview with his teammate Domenico Criscito, he spoke candidly of the reported interest from Italian giants Juventus and Milan, “He’s never given anything away when I’ve tried to discuss the reported interest of Juventus and Milan with him” The interest from Juventus is not a new one as i bianconeri have strongly monitored Witsel, however, ultimately did not sign him when they had the chance. Milan on the other hand, made contact with Witsel, offering a loan with option to buy in 2015, “I can confirm there has been new contact,” agent Francesco Marseglia told Milannews.it. However, it was not pursued.
