There is plenty of transfer activity going on in Italy’s premier division at the moment and one that looks like dragging on well into the summer is the future of Lazio’s playmaker Antonio Candreva.

There are plenty of rumours in Italy at the moment that Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain will join Juventus in a whopping €94m deal; but Candreva is also subject to a sizeable bid, as Inter Milan look to secure his services.

The Italy international who represented his country twice at this summer’s European Championship in France has been subject of a failed €18m from Roberto Mancini’s side, but his agent Federico Pastorello said his client is looking at all the options.

Candreva is considering various offers from home and abroad

It is believed Lazio and Inter will meet at Lega Serie A summit to open up fresh discussions, but the player himself hasn’t totally made up his mind whether he wants to move to the San Siro or try his luck in another country.

The 29-year-old is an accomplished footballer who has spent his entire career in Italy, he was once linked to Manchester United, but according to his agent it might be time for the player to try a new experience.

Speaking about Candreva, Patorello said: “He won over everyone, but now even Antonio has understood that it's time to face new challenges.

Last season he made a telling contribution to Lazio’s season by appearing 28 times, scoring 10 and assisting three, so if he was to leave Lazio it would be a big hole in their armoury missing.

His time there allowed him to develop an excellent relationship with the president, the director, the Coaches, the teammates and the fans. If he leaves, he'll leave with a smile,” insisted his agent.

It seems this transfer might rumble on a little further, but whether Candreva himself fancies a challenge in another European league remains to be seen, but his agent Pastorello said his client will ‘consider’ offers from abroad.
