Torino has pounced to successfully sign former Genoa starlet Iago Falque alongside former AS Roma attacking-midfielder Adem Ljajic.

After passing their respective medicals both Falque and Ljajic are reeling with the new opportunity under new coach Sinisa Mihajlovic to rejuvenate their young careers.

President Urbano Cairo commented on the need to immediately sign Ljajic from Roma “after discussions with our coach Sinisa Mihajlovic we spared no effort to buy Ljajic from Roma” in a statement made to Torino’s website.

Ljajic spent the 2015/16 season with Inter Milan in what was a relatively unsuccessful spell at the club. Urbano is very pleased with the acquisition and is very pleased to add him to Mihajlovic’s squad.

The 24-year-old Serbian attacking midfielder spoke on being reunited with his Serbian compatriot, Mihajlovic, “I’m also happy because I’ll be meeting Mihajlovic, a quality coach who has already been very important in my career” and, who, according to Ljajic has “always shown faith in me constantly”.

Iago Falque is grateful for this opportunity after a successful campaign with Genoa in which he made 32 appearances scoring 13 goals.

“I thank President Cairo and everyone at Torino. I’m very happy. I can’t wait to start this new experience, I’m ready to put myself at the disposal of the coach and my teammates and I hope I can make my contribution” Falque said.

Falque has faced Torino in the Serie A for a number of seasons and believes now being on the other side he is grateful for the “warmth and passion” of the granata faithful and cannot wait play at the Stadio Olimpico di Torino as “playing infront of those fans…it’s the best” and “it gives you enthusiasm and really gets you fired up”.
