Barcelona have completed a deal to sign Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitic from Sevilla for a fee believed to be between €18-21 million euros.

The playmaker, who is representing his national side at this year's World Cup, is believed to have signed a 5 year deal with the Catalan giants, with Barcelona's youngster Denis Suarez going the other way on a two year loan deal.

Rakitic leaves the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan after a remarkable season, in which he scored 15 goals and created 18 more for Unai Emery's side, and led the club to the Europa League and a top 5 finish in La Liga.

Rakitic, who has established himself as one of Europe's finest playmakers, and earned the captaincy at Sevilla, has spoken of his delight of completing the move.

"I am very happy," Rakitic told Catalan newspaper Sport. "It is a dream come true."

The move for Rakitic is Barcelona's second foray in the transfer market this summer, after completing a move for Gladbach keeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen earlier this window. Rakitic will look to fill the gap left by midfielder Cesc Fabregas' departure to Premier League side Chelsea just days ago.
