When Morata’s agent, Juanma López, was asked about the Real Madrid strikers future his straight answer was “Alvaro Morata is getting closer to Juventus”.

It has been no great secret that youngster Alvaro Morata has been looking for a move out of Real Madrid for some time now. Due to a lack of game time, both coach and player said that when the season ended the under-21 international would be searching for new opportunities. The challenge that awaits in Turin provides Morata with not only the opportunity of first team football, but the chance to showcase his skills in the UEFA Champions League.

Real Madrid’s star ladened attack compromising of Ronaldo, Bale and Benzema has meant that Morata’s playing time has been very limited. Not only that, the rise of fellow youngster Jese Rodriguez ahead of him has also meant that Morata has had to wait even longer for his chance on many occasions. Although, despite limited opportunities, Morata scored 9 goals and assisted once in his short time on the pitch, which is perhaps why clubs such as Juventus, Arsenal and Wolfsburg have become interested.

Morata’s move to Serie A champions Juventus will come as a disappointment to both Arsenal and Wolfsburg who previously enquired about the youngster with the Bundesliga side offering Real Madrid £20 million only to be turned down. Arsene Wenger has wanted Morata in the last two transfer windows but has been unsuccessful in landing him and now looks set to be missing out again as the Spain under-21 striker looks to join Juventus. However, the Gunners are reportedly close to signing Barcelona's Alexis Sanchez which will help soften the blow and keep the Emirates faithful appeased.

Real Madrid were reluctant to completely cut ties with born and bred Madrid youngster, so Juventus have agreed to insert a buy-back clause into the four year contract. A similar deal was made with Dani Carvajal when he went to Bayer Leverkusen to then return to Real Madrid after developing as a player. Evidently, this was successful which could suggest Morata is likely to return as a finished article- shrewd business by Los Blancos.

Juventus are looking to seal the €22 million deal with Real Madrid before Monday so that Morata can join pre season preparations as early as possible.
