Colombian superstar and Real Madrid's newest Galactico James Rodriguez has spoken about his dreams to win trophies at Los Blancos. James, 23, was the top scorer at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, as his Colombian side reached the quarter finals before crashing out to hosts Brazil.

He has already began repaying his transfer fee through the replica shirts market, where Madrid have already sold an incredible 345, 000 "James 10" shirts, raking in an estimated £20 million from these sales alone.

I always wanted this and I hope to be happy here for many years,James told Real Madrid TV.

I like challenges and to win, and I'm at a great club to achieve many titles."

"I dream of being here forever, for many years at least, because this club is a winning club, and I am a winner."

" I hope this dream has a happy ending."

He added: “I'm anxious. I want August 1 to come to start training and be better every day.

The €80(£63) million signing from AS Monaco had also previously played under FC Porto, and coach Carlo Ancelotti has said that he is a signing for the future.  Madrid’s history will tell you that they always want to have the best players and ones with a future. We have signed one of the World Cup’s stars. You need these kinds of players for the future, not just for the present, too.”

Rodriguez joins new signing Toni Kroos at the Santiago Bernabeú next season.
