Barcelona's new signing and Uruguayan striker Luis Suárez has vowed to never bite another player again, as he was unveiled as a signing by the club on Tuesday after CAS lifted some of the conditions of his ban - where he was previously told he was banned from "all footballing activity" back in June.

FIFA imposed a four-month ban after his infamous bite on Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup, and he is unable to play in a competitive match for the club until the 26th of October. He admitted that he is also seeking help to avoid any further lengthy bans, after biting Chelsea's Ivanovic and PSV's Bakkal in recent seasons at Liverpool and Ajax respectively.

He had this to say at his unveiling: "The dream of playing for Barca comes from many years ago, as a kid. Everyone knows my relationship with family living here. When I came to look games here, I thought one day I will play here. But it seemed something far away. There were offers from other clubs but when the Barca option came up I didn't think twice. My ban is what it is and we have to accept it. I have apologised and I've been talking to professionals in order to deal with it. I say to all the fans do not worry about that; I will not be doing that anymore.

It's a difficult moment for me. I had the same situation last year at Liverpool. I started to play on September 20 but I was able to train and help my team-mates off the pitch. I'm here to do important things at Barca; everything that happens in the past needs to be forgotten. If I start thinking about everything I've gone through, I wouldn't be able to sleep."

Suárez's ban ends on the 26th of October, which coincides with the weekend of the Madrid derby. If the derby is played on the Saturday, he will NOT be able to play, but if it is on the Sunday, he will be allowed to take part in the game.
