It was goals galore at the Anoeta and Sevilla held a 3-2 advantage going into the final ten minutes, but a late own goal from Arribas and a late Xabi Prieto header stole the points for David Moyes' side.

Sevilla found themselves on the front foot shortly after kick-off as they pressured Sociedad with rapid counter-attacks and a number of corners, perhaps surprisingly, Unai Emery's side failed to capitalise on these opportunities. Somewhat against the run of play, the host's took the lead in the 17th minute and made Sevilla rue their missed chances. Zaldua produced an excellent cross, which Agirretxe struck first-time after losing his marker.

During the following spell, it was end to end as first Sevilla had two good chances with Diogo and Carriço, then Chory Castro and Agirretxe for Real Sociedad. As the pendulum of play swung from one direction to the other, beyond the half-hour it was Sevilla pressuring once more. Though La Real will feel they should have doubled their lead in the 39th minute. Yet another superb counter-attack saw Canales rush through one-on-one with the keeper, but he fluffed an audacious chip and Sergio Rico was on hand to block the wasted attempt.

Half-time approached and it seemed as though the hosts would enter the break with the advantage. However Sevilla continued to pile on the pressure, which paid off with just minutes of the half to play. Timothée Kolodziejczak popped up at the near-post from a corner and his header caught out the host's backline, which had momentarily gone to sleep.

Within three minutes of the restart, the hosts were back in front. Kolodziejczak was adjudged to have caught Canales in the box and the referee, who had no doubts, instantly pointed to the spot. Xabi Prieto stepped up and fired home from the penalty spot.

Shortly after the hosts regained the lead, Emery brought on Vitolo. The attacker instantly shifted the momentum back in Sevilla's favour. Once again the visitors found an equaliser, with just over 20 minutes to play a free-kick was floated in, and Carlos Bacca headed past Rulli for his 14th league goal of the season.

Ten minutes later and it seemed as though Sevilla's comeback was complete. The referee deemed that Íñigo Martínez had handled the ball in the area and awarded the visitors a penalty. Substitute Kevin Gameiro slotted the ball cooly past Rulli, giving Sevilla the lead for the first time in the game.

However the hosts were determined to have the last laugh. Sevilla failed to clear a Sociedad corner, and the ball bounced around the visitor's area. Unfortunately for Arribas, he ended up deflecting the ball past his own goalkeeper and into the net.

Just moments into stoppage time, La Real grabbed an unlikely winner. Once again a corner was whipped in and Xabi Prieto placed a bullet header towards goal, there was nothing Sergio Rico could do apart from watch the ball sail into his goal.

Sevilla now face the difficult task of shutting down Atletico Madrid in their next game, while Real Sociedad travel to the Mestalla to face off against Sevilla's Champions League rivals, Valencia.
