Burnley forward Danny Ings is reportedly a target for Real Sociedad, with former Everton and Manchester United boss David Moyes targeting a Bosman deal for the England U21 international.

Ings has supposedly drawn attraction from clubs such as Manchester United and Liverpool during his first season in the Premier League with Burnley, but the 22-year-old is expected to leave the Clarets when his current deal expires at the end of the season.

Sociedad are in mid-table in La Liga and are still fighting for a top-half finish as the season draws to a close, though after a spell of four wins in five they are now winless in their last three games ahead of Monday's clash with struggling Elche.

“The best motivation is self-motivation. If you play for La Real and you’re not motivated, you have a problem and shouldn’t be here,” Moyes said in his pre-match press conference.

“We need players with determination and attitude, who want to win every game."

And, when asked about Ings, Moyes responded positively.

“I’m hopeful. I’d like to sign new players in order to make the team more competitive nearer to the top of the table.”

Some media outlets reported in February that Ings had signed a pre-contract deal with La Real, but this turned out to be inaccurate with the forward's future still up in the air.

“One thing I do want next year no matter where I am – and I don’t know where that is going to be – is to work with a manager who is going to coach me and really develop me as a player," Ings said recently.

“That’s all you can ask for, to learn and be the best you can be. It is important that you do get football."
