Lucas Vazquez has made his move to Espanyol permanent after spending last season on loan with the Catalans.

Lucas enjoyed a good season with Espanyol who finished 10th in La Liga and reached the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey. The winger made 41 appearances in all competitions and got four goals and six assists.

Lucas never made it into the first team with Real Madrid but he made over 100 appearances for their 'B' and 'C' teams before moving to Espanyol on loan last summer. That loan deal included an agreement that Espanyol could sign the player for €2m and Los Periquitos have decided to exercise that right.

Espanyol head coach, Sergio Gonzalez will be hopeful that the 23 year old can continue in the same form next season as he was one of Espanyol's best players last season and if the Catalan club are going to push towards the European places next season they will need Lucas to play his part.
