The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has decided to give provisional clearance to all Giwa FC players to join other clubs till the rest of the season.

In a letter to the Chairman of the League Management Company (LMC), who are the organizers of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), signed by NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, the football body wrote:

“Based on the LMC’s expulsion of the club from the Premier League and the NFF ratification of the same measure and with special reference to article 14 & 23 of the FIFA regulations on the status and transfer of players, all players of Giwa FC as pronounced by the LMC and the NFF Disciplinary Committee are free to provisionally register for any club of their choice till the end of the 2015/2016 football season”.

This move by the NFF was instigated following the suspension and then expulsion of the Jos based side from the Nigerian premier league in May 2016 due to a breach of the NPFL framework and rules.

Giwa FC had failed to honour three cumulative fixtures against Wikki Tourist (MD14) in Ilorin, Akwa United (MD16) and Enyimba (MD18).

However, the NFF further noted that all the players are to return to the management of Giwa FC after the last match of the 2015/2016 League.
