This week ended well for the former world number seven, Richard Gasquet. The Frenchman, won the title on the clay of Estoril, Portugal.

Gasquet has only played five tournaments this season, but he has already won two titles, the first at Montpellier in February. He has not played in  about a couple of months due to a back injury and has not played in any tournaments since he lost in Indian Wells second round to Michael Berrer by retirement.

Gasquet faced Nick Kyrgios, a "young gun" in his first ATP World Tour final. Nick has had already gotten to two Grand Slam quarter-finals (Wimbledon 2014 and Australian Open 2015), but he has never made an ATP final until today. Before this tournament he has not won a match in a main draw of an ATP 250 tournament.

With a lot of drop-shots and passing shots, the first set was all Gasquet. Kyrgios threw his racquet to the ground at times showing his disappointment since he couldn't impose his style of tennis. The Aussie lost the first set 6-3. The crowd was divided, all they wanted was a third set, but the Frenchman didn't make it easy. After a warning for ball abuse to Kyrgios and more passing shots from "Richie", the second set was all Gasquet taking it 6-2 to win the title.

The inaugural edition of Millenium Estoril Open finished after an hour and four minutes and a 6-3, 6-2 score, with a champion that had already played two finals in Portugal but has never had success and a finalist that made his debut in ATP finals.

Richard Gasquet and Nick Kyrgios will now play at Mutua Marid Open in Madrid, Spain.
