England have named their squad for the one-off T20 International against Pakistan, which will take place at Emirates Old Trafford on Wednesday 8th September.

Having wrapped-up the ODI series with two matches remaining in the series, England will be heavy favourties for the fixture but have resisted the urge to make wholesale changes to the line-up who dispatched Sri Lanka earlier in the summer

Stokes makes T20 return for first time since final despair

Having missed the Sri Lanka game, Ben Stokes is set to play in a T20 for the first time since suffering at the hands of Carlos Brathwaite in the WorldT20 final in Kolkata

The all-rounder joins his Durham teammate Mark Wood in making their returns to the squad for the shorter format of the game, with Joe Root, Alex Hales and Moeen Ali joining up with the T20 squad after all five were unavailable for the game earlier this year.

Chris Woakes joins the Hampshire pair of Liam Dawson and James Vince in missing out alongside Dawid Malan who remains uncapped despite making the last T20 squad.

Mills retains his place as England look to close out summer with victory

Sussex speedstar Tymal Mills has retained his place in the squad despite not having played a professional fixture since July.

His back injury doesn't allow him to play in the longer formats of the game, yet Mills showed enough during his international debut at the Ageas Bowl to be picked once more.

The team are currently riding a wave in one-day cricket, and they will be hoping to claim victory in the final fixture ahead of winter tours to Bangladesh and India.

National selector, James Whitaker, said: "It is excellent to see the progress we are making in white ball cricket across both formats."

Whitaker slo gave praise to the 'county structure' and the England Lions setup who are nurturing the best talent in the country and giving England the depth which provides them with a nucleus of players available to select from.

The likes of Ben Duckett will continue to bang at the door, and with performances like his at Finals Day those selected know that poor form could spell an end to their time in the team.

England T20 squad in full: Eoin Morgan (Middlesex) (Capt.), Moeen Ali (Worcestershire), Sam Billings (Kent), Jos Buttler (Lancashire), Alex Hales (Nottinghamshire), Chris Jordan (Sussex), Tymal Mills (Sussex), Liam Plunkett (Yorkshire), Adil Rashid (Yorkshire), Joe Root (Yorkshire), Jason Roy (Surrey), Ben Stokes (Durham), David Willey (Yorkshire), Mark Wood (Durham)
