Aston Villa have joined the race to sign Bosnian international goalkeeper, and Stoke City keeper, Asmir Begovic.
Manager, Tim Sherwood, is looking in the market for a new goalkeeper after flipping between Brad Guzan, Shay Given, and Jed Steer towards the end of the season.
Chelsea have been considering a move for the 6ft 6inch Bosnian but it’s thought that he would only move to a club where he would be guaranteed first-team football.
Begovic, 28, is rated at around £10million, is likely to be on the move this summer after over five years at the Potters.
Begovic began his journey in English football in 2003 as a youth player, but being unable to get a working Visa meant he had to wait till 2006 to make his debut on English soil while out on loan to Macclesfield Town.
He followed his debut on English soil with loan spells at Bournemouth, Yeovil Town twice, and Ipswich town. Also a short spell in Belgium with La Louvierosie.
His career did not kickstart until he left Portsmouth who were in a financial crisis by the time he left Fratton Park.
Begovic comes with a goalscoring pedigree also. In 2013, he scored after 13 seconds against Southampton from 97.5 yards.
Reports are suggesting that Tim Sherwood is prioritising the signing of a new keeper.
The 28-year-old has one year left on his contract at the Britannia Stadium with Stoke fans believing the relationship between Begovic and the Board is wearing thin.

Aston Villa have also been linked with hard-working Charlton hotshot, Jordan Cousins.
Cousins, 21, is Charlton's prize player and is also being tracked by Liverpool, Arsenal, and Newcastle.
Sherwood is believed to be a long-term admirer of the midfielder, with his midfield currently looking sparse with Tom Cleverley going to Everton.
