Aston Villa Ladies have completed the signing of striker Destiney Toussaint from Oxford United Women.

Toussaint faced Villa last season whilst playing for Oxford, but now she will be wearing the claret and blue for Villa after putting pen to paper for the 2016 FAWSL campaign.

The signing of the former Coventry City forward adds to the good news for manager Joe Hunt after Alicia Robinson committed her future to the WSL 2 team.

Toussaint's first home game for Villa could well be against her former club on 27 March.

Hunt has revealed that Toussaint was player which he had his "eye on" after scouting her "for a long time."

Speaking to the club's official website, Hunt said: "She gives us so many options, she can play both wing positions comfortably.

He continued by saying: "We had a behind-closed-doors game at the weekend and she had a brilliant second half on the left wing."

More strength and depth

Hunt also pointed out that he was delighted with the strength in depth that the Villans now have in the squad. He said: "We now have four established wingers with Destiney, Amy West, Beth Merrick and Sarah Mayling plus the fire power through the middle of Katie Wilkinson, Tash Baptiste and Kerri Welsh."

"We are very fortunate here that we have a lot of players that can play numerous positions very well," continued Hunt.

Hunt has also revealed that "we [Villa] will add one or two more" but insists he is "very pleased with how our is shaping up."

The WSL 2 side have also secured the signatures of several existing players including star player Katie Wilkinson:

"We are very happy to re-sign these players for the new season, they are integral to what we are trying to build here at the club," explained the Villa boss.

Fans will be able to see some of the clubs new additions for the first time this weekend when they face face Portsmouth FC Ladies in the FA Women's Cup.

Whilst they return to WSL action on 24 March away at Everton Ladies.
