Chelsea will be looking to bounce back from their poor performance against West Ham in the week with a win against Watford later today.

Ahead of the game, here are four players who have played for both teams through the years.

  • Nathaniel Chalobah

Chalobah spent the majority of his youth career at Chelsea and signed a professional contract with them in 2012.

The 25-year-old had a loan spell with Watford during the 2012-13 season where he made 42 appearances, including the Championship play offs.

After more loans at various clubs, including Napoli in the 2015-16 season, Chalobah returned to the Chelsea squad with the arrival of Antonio Conte.

This would prove to be his final season in a blue shirt as he made a permanent switch to Watford in the summer of 2017.

  • Nathan Aké

The Dutchman joined the Chelsea academy from Feyenoord, and made his Premier League debut as a sub against Norwich in 2012, aged just 17.

He was also on the bench for Chelsea’s Europa League final win against Benfica in 2013.

Aké made a loan move to Watford in the 2015-16 season, which proved to be very successful for him.

He was one of Watford’s standout players for that season, so much so that he won their ‘Young Player of the Season’ award.

He spent the next season on loan at Bournemouth, before making his move to the south coast permanent in 2017.

  • Josh McEachran

McEachran joined the Chelsea academy at the age of seven in 2001.

He made his senior debut for Chelsea in the Champions League after coming off the bench to replace Yossi Benayoun against MŠK Žilina in 2010.

The midfielder only had brief loan spell with Watford in the 2013/14 season, making just eight appearances.

He then left to join Brentford on a permanent deal in 2015, and is now playing for Birmingham City after signing for them last summer.

  • Lenny Pidgeley

Goalkeeper Pidgeley was also a part of the Chelsea youth system before turning pro in 2003.

He spent the 2003/04 season on loan at Watford, where he made 29 appearances.

He returned to the Blues for the next season, where he was on the bench for Chelsea’s League Cup Final win against Liverpool in 2005 as a result of a suspended Carlo Cudicini.

He retired from football at Farnborough in 2018.
