Huddersfield Town travel to Luton Town in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday afternoon looking to continue their great form to the start of the season, exceeding expectations of many Town supporters. Sitting in seventh place the Terriers are six points off top spot in the second tier of English football. This weekend the West Yorkshire side could push further up the table considering their recent great form.

Carlos Corberan will be looking to gain points before turning his eyes to their clashes against Hull City on October 16. The Terriers face a roster of fixtures in October, with Birmingham City, AFC Bournemouth away at Dean Court and Millwall at home to follow in the league.

Luton Town sit in 9th place in the league table having 13 points on the board. At this stage of the season they have won three games, drawn four and lost three games. Nathan Jones would have been impressed with his sides 5-0 thumping at home in midweek to Coventry City. Two goals apiece by Elijah Adebayo and a single goal by Harry Cornick made sure of a thrilling victory which could potentially be a confidence booster for the Hatters going forward in a tough league.

Luton are set to be without midfielder Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu until after the international break due to injury, while Fred Onyedinma and Admiral Muskwe remain sidelined with respective leg and ligament problems.

Nathan Jones switched to a 3-4-1-2 formation in midweek and he is unlikely to make too many changes to that starting lineup on Saturday, Adebayo and Cornick should keep their places up front with Cameron Jerome and Carlos Mendes Gomes attacking options on the bench.

Centre-back Reece Burke was dropped to the bench in midweek and the summer signing could remain there this weekend, with Tom LockyerKal Naismith and Sonny Bradley all expected to start again in the back three.

As for Huddersfield, striker Jordan Rhodes and defender Pipa have been ruled out until November with respective back and hip injuries. Experienced midfielder Jonathan Hogg has an abdominal issue and Chelsea loanee Levi Colwill missed the midweek victory against Blackburn Rovers with a minor injury to his ankle but will be assessed before kickoff to see if they can feature on Saturday.

Goalkeeper Lee Nicholls is expected to keep the number one jersey ahead of Ryan Schofield who has not fully recovered from a back problem, while Danny Ward is set to continue up front ahead of Fraizer Campbell after an impressive performance on Tuesday.

  • Form Guide

Luton Town come into this one on a mix bag of form but stable in the league table. Their recent 5-0 win at home against Coventry was a massive high. Before this they lost their game at Dean Court against AFC Bournemouth. An own goal in the second half by the Cherries giving the Hatters hope right up until the final whistle. Previous to this they registered four draws in a row against Sheffield United, Blackburn Rovers, Bristol City and Swansea City.

Huddersfield Town on other hand have had a successful start to the league campaign. Having beaten Blackburn at the John Smith Stadium at the weekend 3-2, Danny Ward taking the game to the away side to win the game later on. But previous to this the Terriers lost their last two against Swansea City and Nottingham Forest but broke the rot on Tuesday night. Ahead of Luton they will be looking to get back to back wins.

  • Previous meetings

Last time out Town drew 1-1 to Luton, Naby Sarr's late goal in the 74th minute summed up an exciting game for the West Yorkshire outfit to deny Luton victory at Kenilworth Road. The visitors had trailed for most of the game after James Collis 10th goal of the season gave the Hatters the lead. But Sarr struck in the final quarter of the game, turning in a rebound from close range after Juninho Bacuna's low free kick was palmed back into a crowd of players. Harry Toffolo was sent off late on for a lunge on Glen Rea.

  •  Ones to watch

Sorba Thomas, Lewis O'Brien, Danel Sinani and Josh Koroma have had fantastic starts to this season. With Ward taking the plaudits last game he looks to have come into form at the right time. Sinani has assisted throughout the start of this season, his wonder of a left foot always troubling defences.

Jordan Clark;
Played often as Luton’s chief creator in midfield, Clark sits in the space between the lines behind their forwards, looking to supply the strikers as his team break on the counter. A smart player with good technical ability, he will need to be closely managed by Town’s holding midfielders to ensure his influence on the game is limited. A versatile player, he can be deployed in different positions, allowing Luton to change shape and formation.

Elijah Adebayo;
With a brace in Luton’s 5-0 midweek home win against Coventry and one half of Luton’s dangerous striking partnership, Adebayo has a lot to like about his game. Quick, confident and always working hard for his side, he will give Town’s backline plenty of headaches as he attempts to play off their shoulder and get in behind them. One of the main reasons Luton play without the ball and look to break, Adebayo is someone Town are going to have to be wise to.

Harry Cornick;
Perhaps the home side’s best known player and certainly one of their most dangerous, Cornick also scored a midweek brace. Lightening quick and central to all of Luton’s best attacking play, he also laid on two assists in their midweek 5-0 win. Having won Luton’s Goal of the Season, Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season awards last season, it’s no secret how important the 26 year old is to his side. To win at the weekend, Town are going to have to keep him quiet.

  • How to watch

The clash kicks off at 15.00 (GMT) and will be broadcasted live on Huddersfield Town iFollow in the UK.

Corberan spoke to club media on the confidence before going into the Blackburn game but now looks ahead to the trip upto Luton. He said:

"I think all the squad know how difficult it is to win every game so it means that we knew that they will all be difficult and tough games. For me the key is to know the games, as soon as you go to a game thinking it is easy, football changes fast and isn't relaxed. You have to have a self demand. I am totally concentrated now on Luton. Their game the other day didn't surprise me and have had injuries and also played loads of games away from home."
