Charlton knocked Brighton & Hove Albion out of the previous round of the Cup, overcoming them on penalties after a goalless game.
Manchester United beat Burnley in the Round of 16 with a 2-0 win to achieve their place in the quarter finals.
This is the first time Charlton have reached this stage of the competition since 2006 where they had a 1-0 defeat against Wycombe Wanderers. Manchester United, however, won the cup in the 2016/17 season.
Manchester United go into the game with a positive string of results in the Premier League whilst Charlton are 12th in League One despite two recent wins which could boost their confidence.

With an eye on this weekends trip to Manchester City, Erik ten Hag could decide to rest some of his key players to keep them in the top 4 in the league. That being said, following their FA Cup win, they could be eager to push for another trophy.
