An entertaining first half between Tottenham and Leicester saw the two teams head into the break level at 2-2.

With the visitors enjoying more of the ball and positive attacking play in the first half, it seemed that we would be in for an exciting and competitive restart.

However, Leicester's defensive frailties showed themselves to their fullest extent in the second half. A Heung-min Son hat-trick in the just over half-an-hour which he was on the pitch for rounded off a ruthless 6-2 win for the hosts.

Here are the player ratings from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium:

Tottenham

Hugo Lloris - 7/10

Couldn't have done much to prevent the two goals. His initial save from Tielemans' spot-kick was taken away due to him have both feet off the line. Had a few decent saves to make, most notably towards the end of the first half against Maddison's low, powerful strike.

Davinson Sanchez - 5/10

Taken off before the hour mark. Looked a weakness in Tottenham's backline and failed to make an impression on his chance back in the team.

Eric Dier - 6.5/10

A great header to get on the scoresheet in the first half. A decent performance to celebrate his return to the England squad.

Clement Lenglet - 6/10

Had some issues, with Maddison - who was at the heart of Leicester's play, often operating around his area of the pitch. But, was able to get through the game in one piece.

Ivan Perisic - 6/10

His corner from the left side was met by Dier's flick on, creating the host's second goal. Was taken off very early in the second half, which was surprising given his decent performance and Sessegnon's struggles on the other side.

Ryan Sessegnon - 5.5/10

Beaten way too easily by Castagne for Leicester's second goal of the game, the wing-back should have never have allowed the low cross to be put in there. Looks to be a bit of a liability defensively, but a respectable performance, in possession.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg - 7.5/10

A very lively presence in midfield. Was able to have a strong attacking impact, in addition to his usual energy and defensive reliability. Completed two key passes and maintained a 93% pass completion rate.

Rodrigo Bentancur - 9/10

His brilliant pressing led to him getting a crucial third goal for his team, to go back ahead in the game. He dispossessed Ndidi and went on to produce a neat finish, which went in the net off the post. A combined seven tackles and interceptions completed and an assist, as well.

Dejan Kulusevski - 6.5/10

Put in a perfect ball from a deep position, which led to Kane's early equaliser. Kept hold of the ball well when it reached him, particularly impressive tight spaces.

Richarlison - 6/10

Tottenham's man-in-form couldn't quite have the same impact as he had in the previous few game. A quiet hour, before he was replaced by Son - who had much more of an impact.

Harry Kane - 8/10

A trademark good bit of movement from the forward led to him being able to squeeze in a header, for Tottenham's first goal of the evening. Also gets an assist to his name, which he has Son to thank for, after his brilliant second goal.

Substitutes

Emerson Royal (55') - 6/10

Did not have much work to do as Leicester's attacking threat wore off in the last half-hour of the game. A decent substitute appearance.

Heung-min Son (59') - 10/10

Has put his underwhelming start to the season well and truly behind him. Two incredible strikes from outside of the box were the highlights of a half-hour cameo, which saw him get off the mark this season with a hat-trick off the bench.

Cristian Romero (59') - 6/10

Was composed on the ball and a noticeable upgrade on Sanchez for the rest of the second half.

Yves Bissouma (70') - N/A

Leicester City

Danny Ward - 4/10

Leicester seem to be missing Kasper Schmeichel quite a lot. A poor performance, which alludes no confidence into an already shaky backline. One brilliant save was the only highlight of a difficult game.

Timothy Castagne - 4/10

Both him and Justin advanced forward fairly often and, apart from a decent spell in the first half, this left Leicester exposed at the back.

Wout Faes - 5/10

The most impressive performer of a very poor defensive unit. A few decent, strong tackles showed that he may be a decent addition to this team.

Jonny Evans - 4/10

Was often left helpless at the back, due to no fault of his own. Couldn't provide any heroics to prevent a second half collapse.

James Justin - 4/10

Like most of the Leicester team, quite good on the ball, but is a part of serious issues defensively. Did well to win the penalty, leading to the opening goal of the game.

Wilfred Ndidi - 3.5/10

An awful moment when he dwelled on the ball in his own half and was eventually tackled by Bentancur started off the horrific second half. Was poor for the rest of the game, as well.

Youri Tielemans - 6.5/10

A well retaken penalty and a positive impact in possession. A few moments where he may have done better to help his team in transition from attack to defence.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall - 6.5/10

A total of four key passes, but another representation of Leicester's issues, as the midfielder didn't complete a single tackle or interception in his 74 minute appearance.

James Maddison - 8/10

The only real positive of the visitor's evening. All of Leicester's attacking play went through him. Got a deserved goal and may have also had another one and/or a few assists on the night. Very unfortunate to be on the losing end of the game.

Harvey Barnes - 6/10

Could not have the attacking impact which he would have liked. Overshadowed by Maddison and, to an extent, Daka.

Patson Daka - 6.5/10

Was able to cause the Tottenham backline a few issues. Had a good chance to get a goal in the first half, but rushed his shot before he could get closer to Lloris.
