Manchester United travel down to the midlands on Thursday night for the final game of match-week five, where they face a struggling Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

The foxes come into the game as a club in turmoil, having lost three of their opening four Premier League fixtures, earning their solitary point on the opening day after giving up a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 at home to Brentford. In their most recent game Leicester lost their third league game in a row, losing 2-1 to an inconsistent Chelsea side, despite their opponents going down to ten men early in the first half.

For United, it is quite staggering what can happen within the space of a week. After their dismal start to the campaign, the Red Devils beat fierce rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford last Monday, before heading to the south coast to earn a 1-0 victory against a strong Southampton side thanks to a well worked team goal finished by Bruno Fernandes. The upturn in results, alongside the solid signings of Casemiro and now Antony, has certainly added a feel good factor around Old Trafford.

Midfielder James Maddison is a doubt with a hamstring problem after missing the previous game, however manager Brendan Rodgers is hopeful the Englishman will be available for selection.

Aside from Maddison there are no new injury concerns for the Foxes, as long-term absentees Ricardo Pereira (achilles) and Ryan Bertrand (knee) are both still out as the Leicester full-back injury curse continues.

Manchester United

There are no new injuries for the visitors, as Erik ten Hag confirmed that Anthony Martial is the only injury of note and will not be returning to the United squad just yet.

Defender Victor Lindelof has now returned to training with the team after a spell on the sidelines but is unlikely to be in contention for the Red Devils just yet.

Casemiro could hope for his first start in a United shirt after impressing in a brief cameo at St Mary's, whilst the transfer of prospective new signing Antony is still yet to be completed.

Likely Lineups

Leicester (4-1-4-1):

Ward, Castagne, Amartey, Evans (c), Justin, Ndidi, Pérez , Tielemans, Dewsbury-Hall, Barnes, Vardy

Manchester United (4-3-3):

Key Players

Leicester - Harvey Barnes

After scoring the consolation goal and playing a vital part in the second yellow card for Conor Gallagher at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, Barnes looks like he could be one of Leicesters few shining lights against United.

The wide-man scored his opening goal of the campaign against Chelsea and will be looking to kick on at the King Power. His pace and directness on the counter attack will be crucial the Rodgers' side as the Red Devils will undoubtably have plenty of the ball.

His link up with Jamie Vardy was present not only for the goal against Chelsea but all game, and will be key to unlocking what has been a solid United defence of late.

Manchester United - Lisandro Martinez

The Argentine has been superb in United's previous two games and has arguably been the key to their upturn in form.

Two man of the match performances in a row from the centre-back has helped the team to a far more stable defence, striking up an impressive partnership with Raphael Varane to concede just one goal in those two wins -  compared to the six goals conceded in the opening two fixtures against Brighton and Hove Albion and Brentford.

Those criticising Martinez for his height - or lack of it - in the opening games have since gone quiet. The stats certainly don't lie, as the 24-year-old won 100% of his ground duels and five out of five aerial duels at St Mary's on Saturday. Furthermore, the stats show that Martinez has won a massive 83% of his aerial duals in the league this season, putting him above the likes of Chelsea's Kalidou Koulibaly and Manchester City's Ruben Dias.

Match Details
