Leeds United have continued their unbeaten start to their Premier League campaign by beating Chelsea 3-0 at home.

First half goals from Brenden Aaronson and Rodrigo shocked the visitors and gave Leeds a healthy lead going into the break.

Midfielder Jack Harrison added a third goal for the home side to secure the game in the 69th minute.

This defeat will act as a severe wake-up call for Chelsea who spent large sums of money on transfers this Summer.

This is how the players rated at Elland Road.

  • Leeds

Illan Meslier - 7.5/10

A clean sheet for the Leeds goalkeeper who made a couple of key saves to prevent Chelsea from getting into the match.

Rasmus Kristensen - 6/10

Didn't offer much going forward for the home side but tracked Raheem Sterling when he made runs in and behind.

Robin Koch - 6.5/10

Was not particularly troubled by the Chelsea attackers but dealt with the pressure well when the away side moved into dangerous areas.

Diego Llorente - 6.5/10

Similar to Koch, Llorente wasn't pushed by the Chelsea front line but responded well when the visitors made threatening runs.

Pascal Struijk - 6.5/10

Defended with strength and did not let anyone beat him on his flank of the pitch.

Marc Rosa - 7/10

Sat deep in the Leeds midfield and both defended and moved the ball effectively. Was involved in a collision with opposite midfielder Conor Gallagher but shook it off.

Tyler Adams - 7.5/10

Like Rosa, Adams distributed the ball regularly, creating chances for Leeds to attack in the other half of the pitch.

Daniel James - 6/10

Started the game poorly with some mistakes with the ball as well as being tame in front of the goal. However, his ball in was vital in the third goal.

Brenden Aaronson - 8/10

Opened the scoring when he beat the Chelsea goalkeeper and looked full of energy throughout.

Jack Harrison - 9/10

Constantly created chances for his frontmen, scored the third goal and tested Edouard Mendy on multiple occasions.

Rodrigo - 8.5/10

Brought bundles of energy and pressure straight from the kick-off and scored a classy header for his side's second goal.

Substitutions

Adam Forshaw - 6/10

Settled into the game quickly and helped his side secure the three points.

Luis Sinisterra - 6/10

Added pace to the already energetic Leeds side that Chelsea could not handle.

  • Chelsea

Edouard Mendy - 3.5/10

His mistake gifted Leeds their opening goal and often didn't look comfortable when shots came his way.

Reece James - 6/10

Showed his willingness to get forward as well as his defensive ability but this was not enough.

Kalidou Koulibaly - 3.5/10

Received two rash yellow cards and was consequently sent off after a performance that was littered with mistakes.

Thiago Silva - 5/10

Did not make any major mistakes but was let down by his defensive teammates who gave the game away.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek - 4.5/10

Was unable to convert a great chance early in the game and failed to make an impact on the game.

Marc Cucurella - 5/10

Looked promising and full of energy when pushing forwards but did not look convincing when taking shots at goal.

Jorginho - 5/10

Struggled to control the game as he usually does and as a result, was unable to create chances and generate attacks for his team.

Conor Gallagher - 4.5/10

Was not an ideal first senior start for Gallagher who never really settled into the game often looking uncomfortable on the ball.

Raheem Sterling - 5.5/10

Looked to create problems with lively runs in and behind the Leeds defence. The most likely to create chances for the visitors.

Mason Mount - 5/10

As per usual, Mount was full of running and frequently looked to get into good areas for his side.

Kai Havertz - 4/10

Little to no impact on the game and asked no questions of the Leeds defender or the goalkeeper.

Substitutions

Christian Pulisic - 4/10

Came on and offered no impact to a slow and lethargic Chelsea performance,

Hakim Ziyech - 4/10

Also struggled to have an impact when brought on and was sub-par with his set pieces.

Ben Chilwell - N/A

Cesar Azpilicueta - N/A
