In the Six Nations they started by beating Italy and Wales, although in the most recent match they lost to Scotland by 30-21. They recovered by beating Ireland by 23-22 and have options in the last round to win the trophy, although they do not depend on themselves. They are currently second with 12 points, four points behind Ireland. Only one point ahead of Scotland and France.
They have won 39 editions of this tournament, 29 of them individually and 10 as a team. They have not won the Six Nations since 2020. In 2023 they finished fourth with 10 points.

France arrived after doing well in the World Cup finals where they won all their matches in group A, coming out on top of the group. However, in the quarterfinals, they lost to South Africa by 28-29.
