Dominican Republic's top man: Riki Alba, the Las Vegas Killer

The 29-year-old player has just arrived this February to the Las Vegas Lights, which belongs to the USL (United Soccer League), the second division league in the United States.

He has only played one game, playing 33 minutes, where he managed to score a goal and had two other missed chances. He can play as a center forward or on the left.

Last year with the team Fredikstad FK of Norway he played twenty-two games, ten as a starter, playing 42 minutes per game approximately. He scored 6 goals, one every 152 minutes.

Peru's leading man: Piero Quispe, the Peruvian gem

The 22-year-old is currently playing for Pumas of Mexico, in what is his first experience abroad. He is a midfielder whose strengths are passing, high pressure and long balls. He has played ten games for his club, eight as a starter, totaling around 72 minutes per game, without having managed to score a goal throughout the Mexican season.

His passing accuracy is 88% and 90% in his own field and 86% in the opponent's field.

Who is Jorge Fossati?

Jorge Fossati is a 71-year-old coach, who comes from directing Club Universitario, with which he ended up winning the league championship last 2023, after the team had a nine-year drought.

The Uruguayan also coached his native country from 2004 to 2006, with which he failed to qualify for the World Cup after losing the playoff to Australia, and was also coach of Qatar from 2007 to 2008.

At club level he has also coached teams such as Peñarol, Liga de Quito, Al Sadd and Cerro Porteño, teams with which he was champion.

Dominican Republic looking forward to the World Cup

On the other hand, the Caribbean team had a positive start to the year when they defeated Aruba by two goals to zero this past Saturday. Their participation in the CONCACAF Nations League B league was not negative, but they did not achieve promotion to the A league after finishing second in their group with 10 points, behind Nicaragua's 16 points.

They will also prepare for the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, being in group E along with Dominica, Guatemala and Jamaica, who will face each other in June in what will be the second round with one-leg matches, the group winners and the six group runners-up will advance to the third round, which will have a total of 12 teams.
