The break in Liga MX activity allowed Cruz Azul to take the time to credential its supporters' group in order to identify them and speed up the processes imposed by the FMF's new measures aimed at eradicating violence in Mexican soccer. All indications are that the Celeste fans got involved in a good way to speed up the process. The only thing that remains to be seen is the implementation of the Fan ID for Cruz Azul's home matches.

Atlas arrives at the Azteca in search of three points that will keep them in direct qualification for the Mexican soccer's big party and thus have a better chance of a second championship. Jeremy Márquez, a Celeste youth player who currently plays for the Red and Blacks, is looking forward to his return to the Coloso de Santa Úrsula, where he made his debut with a goal in the 2020 season. La Academia is in fourth place in the table with 19 points, 5 wins, 4 draws and two defeats with 13 goals scored and 8 conceded. It seems that the waters have calmed down with regard to the episode of violence that led to the Atlas barra, who has a sanction of not being allowed to enter stadiums for at least two years as visitors and one as home team.
