Texas’ (17-9,6-7 Big 12) disappointing year continues. Oklahoma (18-8, 9-5 Big 12) got its second win over the Longhorns this year with a 71-69 victory in Norman on Tuesday night. Oklahoma beat Texas in Austin in early January 70-49.

Oklahoma got the boost from Jordan Woodard scoring 13 points with 11 of them coming in the second half. Woodard is the only Oklahoma starter who doesn’t average double figure scoring. Myles Turner had 17 points and 6 blocks for the Longhorns.

Texas was primed to get a much needed victory. Texas was leading by 6 points with less than 4 minutes to play. Woodard hit a clutch three pointer and had a big steal late to pull the Sooners closer. Woodard hit the go ahead layup with 1:32 and the Sooners had control from that point on.

It would have been huge for Texas if they were able to get this win, as it doesn’t get any easier for the Longhorns moving forward. They play a crucial home contest on Saturday - Iowa St before going on the road to face West Virginia and Kansas. Texas would be in the field if selection Sunday was today, but not as comfortable as they would like.

Oklahoma heads on the road to take on a Texas Tech team. Oklahoma, two games behind Kansas for Big 12 supremacy, ends the season with a game in the Hilton Coliseum to take on Iowa St  before their season finale - Kansas.
