Michigan State is undoubtedly the team to beat this far in the tournament, next to Kentucky. The winner of this matchup will go on to face the winner of North Carolina State vs Louisville

The Sooners are holding their opponents to just 39% success from on their total shots, including a 32.0 percent showing from beyond the arc.

Hield averages a team best of 17 PPG. He was also named the Big 12 Conference player of the year, and is joined by teammates Isaiah Cousins, and TaSahwn Spangler. Spangler and Woodward have made significant contributions to the team as well this season.

Jordan Woodward scored 16 points, Buddy Hield added on his 15 --despite shooting 4-of-13 from the floor, and Frank Booker was pulled from the bench to add on 12 points for the Sooners

Oklahoma hit 9-of-18 3-pointers while Dayton went 11-of-21 from beyond the arc. The Sooners also claimed a 35-23 rebounding advantage over the Flyers of Dayton

The Sooners' recent clash with Dayton was a battle that it had planned out to be. Both teams shot almost the same, with the exception of Oklahoma finishing with an edge of 19-11 in points from the foul line.

Oklahoma has reached the Final Four only four times, and have seen the championship only twice (1947 and 1988.)

Oklahoma wiped out Albany (69-60) and then Dayton (72-66) to get to where they are now. The Sooners are making their third straight NCAA tounrmant appearance, also their 29th overall. Their NCAA Tournament record is set at 37-28 in this particular event, all time.

The opponent, Oklahoma Sooners, rightly earned the number three seed in the East region, after finishing the season 24-10.

Travis Trice averages 15.0 points per game, Denzel Valentine who racks up 14 points per game, and Dawson brings up 12.0 points per game; All players average double figures, and as a team has done exceptionally well from the perimeter in putting up 71.6 points per game.

Travis Trice had a 4-for-8 performance from beyond the arc, helping him net a game high 23 points. In the meanwhile, Branden Dawson was just close to recording a double-double as he racked up 15 points and nine rebounds. All in all, the Spartans were outdone on the glass, 39-32, and both teams took care of the ball, only combining for 11 turnovers.

Michigan State played a stingy defense style against Virginia, allowing close to 30 percent of field goal attempts to find the bottom of the net, including 2-of-17 3 point attempts. On the flip side, MSU shot only 43 percent from the floor, nailing 6-of-12 long range shots.

Tom Izzos' Spartans run to the Sweet Sixteen began with a win over the Georgia Bulldogs, 70-63. Which was then followed by an upset victory over number two seed Virginia, 60-54. Michigan State Spartans are seeded at number 7 in the East region of the bracket. This is their fourth consecutive time reaching the Sweet 16 stage of the tournament. They have improved their NCAA record to 61-27, and eyeing their ninth Final Four appearance.
