In the NHL Playoffs, there is a big difference when you have just swept the last team, and when you have come in after a 6 game series. The Ducks showed that they were rested and just easily took care of the Calgary Flames in game 1.

Matt Beleskey was the first one to get a goal for the Ducks, when he scored with 9:43 remaining in the first. He was assisted by both Kyle Palmieri and Hampus Lindholm. This was just the beginning of a rough night for Flames goaltenders, as both Jonas Hiller and Karri Ramo gave up 3 goals. Patrick Maroon and Corey Perry also both added goals on Hiller before he would get pulled just over 2 minutes into the second period.

Emerson Etem got his second goal of this postseason to put one past Ramo for the first time, and then the Flames started having some penalty issues which would lead to power play goals for Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf in the third period. Sam Bennett scored the lone goal with just over 10 minutes remaining for the Flames, but obviously it was too little too late as Frederik Andersen saved 23 shots and had a 96% save percentage and was able to get the victory for the Ducks.

Game 2 of this series will also be in Anaheim on Sunday, May 3 at 10 PM EST. The Ducks are 5-0 this postseason and they will try to stay that way.
