Supercross: A Break Then a Return to 250 West

It's finally time for the riders to have their first break of the year. When racing returns in two weeks' time, the 250 West riders will take to the track after weeks of watching the East group.

The majority of the 2015 Monster Energy Supercross Series season has been left in the dust, and it is now time to focus on the final stops on the calendar - but not so fast.

After consecutive Saturday's of racing inside baseball and football stadiums all across the country, it is time for the riders to slow down for a week-long break - especially the 450 Supercross class riders, who race at every round; the 250 West and East riders have raced in about half of the rounds each thus far. After the opening stretch of the new season began with the 250 West group, the 250 East riders took to the track for their first round of the year for the first of two back-to-back rounds inside the Georgia Dome of Atlanta, Georgia. It was then that the break for the West riders began and work picked up for the East class. After Easter weekend passes and racing begins again next weekend in Houston on April 11, it'll be the West group getting back on track after a lengthy break watching the East riders bang bars.

Of course, the West leg of the championship left fans hanging and wanting more; the battling between Cooper Webb and Tyler Bowers was heating up, and rides like Webb's surge through the field after being on the ground and taking the checkers after 15 laps - those are the rides the fans are wanting and it's the rounds of the championship like that that will stick out when thinking of this season.

The wait is nearly over for a return of Cooper Webb of Yamalube Yamaha, Tyler Bowers of Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki, Malcolm Stewart of Geico Honda, and the remainder of the 250 West group in Supercross competition. The East riders already raced their round in the state of Texas at AT&T Stadium near Arlington; next weekend will mark a return to Texas for the second round in the state, this time at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.

Questions are spinning around this next round in the championship. Will Webb and Bowers immediately return to the track as enemies rather than the buddies they were just months ago? Will Malcolm Stewart be able to take his second win of 2015? For the 450s, will Ryan Dungey be able to win without KTM stablemate and Frenchman Marvin Musquin running the 250 main event beforehand, taking the checkers himself (since Atlanta, Dungey and Musquin have finished in exactly the same positions, including five wins)?

All of these questions and more will be brought to the table and surely answered when Supercross action returns next weekend from Houston.
