The Pramac Racing rider from Madrid, who finished third in yesterday's sprint race. Jorge Martín has only scored points once in the last four races in Algarve. It was in 2021 where he finished seventh.

The rider from Cervera will ride his second race with the Italian team. Marc was the fastest in free practice 1, although he made a mistake in qualifying by crashing, and he also did it this morning in the warm up. Although yesterday in the sprint he took second place after a great race, he also made a mistake this morning in the warm up.

The Valencian rider was the winner of the intermediate category, the first of his life in Moto2. Alonso Lopez crashed when he was leading, while Roberts and Manu Gonzalez completed the podium. Fermín Aldeguer, who will race in MotoGP next season, finished 4th after a comeback from a double long lap.

Maverick Viñales reigns in the sprint with a Spanish podium finish

Spanish podium in the sprint race. With a Maverick Viñales who had not won since 2021 in the Grand Prix of Qatar. Second finished second Marc Márquez, who overtook Jorge Martín on the last lap. The Spaniard finished third and remains second in the World Championship. 4th finished Pecco Bagnaia, who was leading the race but made a mistake and finally missed the podium despite a good start.

MotoGP Qualifying Summary

Enea Bastianini was the fastest in the qualifying session. And he did not start from the first position of the year 2022. The Lenovo Ducati rider set a great lap to which he could not be beaten. Álex Márquez and Pedro Acosta after going through Q1 had little margin. As did Marc Marquez and Brad Binder who at the start of Q2 went to the ground.  This was the complete grid

Fermín Aldeguer to race next season in MotoGP

One of this week's news in the premier class of motorcycling has been the announcement by Ducati for the signing of Fermín Aldeguer for next season. The 18-year-old rider, who is in the Moto2 class this year, will make his debut in MotoGP in 2025. It has not yet been made official on which bike he will race, but everything suggests that it will be with Prima Pramac Racing. The rider from Murcia has signed for two years, although there would be an option to renew for two more years with the Italian brand. 

After the announcement Fermín said he was "delighted to have this opportunity". After resolving his future he explained that now it is time to focus "on this season". "I have an important challenge in Moto2. I will give everything to leave this category with my head held high and aiming to get the best possible results before embarking on the new adventure in MotoGP," he added.

The race will be held at the Algarve International Race Track, located in the Algarve region of Portugal. It was inaugurated on November 2, 2008. It has a length of 4653 meters, 15 turns, nine to the left, six to the right and a capacity for 100,000 spectators.

Grand Prix of Portugal

This weekend takes place the second Grand Prix of the Spanish motorcycling season 2024. 15 days after the Grand Prix of Qatar the competition returns where Pecco Bagnaia arrives as leader with 31 points, closely followed by Brad Binder, with 29 and Jorge Martin with 28. The GP of Portugal disputed in Algarve since the year before has done it in Estoril.
