Turner Motorsport has confirmed that it has ordered two new BMW M6 GT3s after intending to move on from its successful Z4 GT3 for the upcoming 2016 racing season.

The upcoming M6 GT3 will make its debut in January's WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season-opener, the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

We are super excited for the new GT3 M6,” said Will Turner. “BMW Motorsport has been extremely busy with testing and development on the new car so I am confident when we get the cars they will be very well sorted out."

Turner also stated that the team expects to take delivery of the new cars by the end of 2015, allowing them to get their hands on them before testing for Daytona and finalization of driver lineups for the season.

Season-long in IMSA, PWC again

The team also intends on returning to Pirelli World Challenge next year with the updated car.

Both IMSA and PWC season-long programs for 2016 are shaping up and I hope that we will be able to make an official announcement in the near future,” Turner went on to say.

Turner Motorsport currently fields the No. 32 and No. 95 Z4 GT3 cars in the GTA category of World Challenge, driven by Bret Curtis and Bill Ziegler, respectively, as well as the No. 97 Z4 in the GT Daytona class of the TUDOR Championship.

Andy Blackmore-designed livery

The livery pictured above is not final, per the team, but was designed by Andy Blackmore as an educated guess of sorts as to what the M6 will look like in the iconic colors of Turner Motorsport.

Since the M6 has not officially been released by BMW we took our best shot at coming up with an accurate rendering of the new M6 GT3 to show our fans what it may look like in the iconic Turner blue and yellow,” said Jay Baier, Turner’s director of marketing.

Andy Blackmore did a great job with the artwork based off the images of the camouflage car.”
