The riders will start from La Léchère les Bains and will have an eventful day with six passes. Starting with the fourth category Côte d'Esserts-Blay, followed by the Côte d'Héry Sur Ugine and the second category Col des Aravis, then the traditional first category Col de la Colombière, followed by the Côte de Châtillon sur Cluses and after the intermediate sprint they will have one last climb to the Col de Joux Plane, to finish with another climb to Les Gets, which is not categorizable.
