DeAndre Yedlin, 21, has already accomplished more than some soccer players twice his age could have dreamed of doing in their career. As a blue-chip prospect out of O'Dea High School in Seattle, Yedlin was heavily-recruited by many of the top NCAA soccer powerhouses before choosing to sign with the University of Akron, whom has produced over 16 MLS players since 2005.

Yedlin tallied 12 assist in 42 career games with the Golden Zips over the span of two seasons before becoming the Seattle Sounders first ever homegrown player in January 2013.

His first appearance for the Sounders would come on March 2nd, 2013 in a 1-0 lost to the Montreal Impact, yet Yedlin would become the first rookie ever to receive MLS Team of the Week honors in his professional debut. Yedlin also became the first player since 2005 to receive an All-Star selection in his rookie campaign.

Then the international world came a calling as Jurgen Klinsmann included Yedlin in his controversial 23-man roster for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. He would make his first appearance late in the 2nd half and set up his Sounders teammate Clint Dempsey to give them a 2-1 lead over Portugal. Yedlin also made appearance for the USMNT as a late sub in both of their remaining matches verse Germany and Belgium.

In August 2014, rumors were finally put to an end as it was announced that the Tottenham Hotspurs of the English Premier League had signed Yedlin away from the Sounders on a 4-year deal. The Spurs would allow Yedlin to stay with his MLS-club until reporting to them in January 2015.

He started training across the pond with the Spurs early in January 2015 and things started to look up as he made three-consecutive appearances for Tottenham's Under-21 squad, but then Yedlin started to find himself constantly waiting for his turn with the varsity squad.

He professionally kept to himself for the most part about riding the bench while the Spurs started to fall down the table come April. Then, on April 11th he made his Premier League debut in a 1-0 loss against Aston Villa.

Tottenham battled back to finish 5th in the 2014-2015 table and qualified for the Europa League Group Stage for another consecutive year, after being beat in the Round of 16 by Serie A side-Fiorentina this past spring.

Yet, it is Yedlin whose future for the first time in his is professional career is up in the air. Tottenham has been lucky to keep right back Kyle Walker healthy and such didn't have much of a need for the young American this past season.

Currently reports have lower-level English clubs like: Bolton, Hull City, Norwich City and even Derby County interested in loaning out the speedy-wing back for parts or all of the 2015-2016 campaign.

The only thing for certain now in DeAndre Yedlin's life is that he will get to return home and play as a part of the USMNT in this summer Gold Cup. Coach Jurgen Klinsmann has selected Yedlin as a midfielder on his provisional 23-man roster, which was released early-Tuesday. Nonetheless, the potential and play of this young superstar is going to be fun to watch as he matures and gets even wiser on the pitch in the years to come.
