Everton change

54' Sadio Mane races towards the box down the left flank, he looks as though he is going to unleash at shot but Seamus Coleman is there to make a block and earn a goal kick for his side.

Second half

We are back underway.

Could we see a change at the break?

Mo Salah or Alex Oxlade Chamberlain are surely in Jurgen Klopp's mind as Liverpool look to keep their strong recent record against Everton going.

Half Time

A very uneventful first half at Goodison Park, both sides struggled to create too many clear-cut opportunities.

Both sides have defended well so far, so it will be interested to see if either side can break the deadlock in the second half.

45' Two minutes added time.

42' Milner is forced off with an injury, Joe Gomez comes on.

41' Michael Keane goes into the book for bringing down Sadio Mane, Jordan Pickford makes a good save to his right from a Alexandra Arnold free kick.

30' Joel Matip meets a Trent Alexander-Arnold free-kick but the defender's header is way off target and Everton have a goal kick.

Mike Dean with a new look

23' The players have taken the first drinks break of the evening, although they can't have expended much energy so far.

20' James Milner is the first player to go into the book, a late challenge on Richarlison sees the former Manchester City man earn a caution.

19' Liverpool are looking a touch rusty here,  understandably  given the long break for Jurgen Klopp's men. Everton defending resolutely so far.

14' The visitors are enjoying a lot of possession in the opening minutes of this game although they haven't done too much with it as of yet.

10' Minamino has the visitors' first shot of the night, although he fires well over the top and into the stands

7' Even start with both teams getting used to the new norm for football. You sense the first goal could be crucial tonight.

3' Richarlison goes close! The Brazil man is played through and works his way into the box and fires a shot towards the bottom corner, it nearly creped it.
