Bad luck Marlins? Miami's outfielder Giancarlo Stanton, who was starting to get hot after slumping most April, injured his right hamstring while grounding out to first during the 10th inning of last night’s 4-3 victory over Mets in the 15th inning at Marlins Park.

The 23-year old was hitting .262 with 3 homeruns and 9 RBI’s in the last 10 games before getting injured.

Power hitting prospect Marcell Ozuna has been called up in replace of Stanton. Ozuna, who began the season on the disabled list with a fractured hand, is hitting (14-for-42) .333/.383/.810 line which includes five homeruns and 15 RBI’s in 10 games this year with the Jacksonville Suns.

Here's more news around the league on April 29th:

ANGELS: Center fielder Peter Bourjos had a similiar injury to the one Giancarlo Stanton suffered. Bourjos strained his left hamstring on Monday's 10-8 loss to the A's while legging out a sacrifice bunt in the 11th inning. It's expected that the Angels place Bourjos on the 15-day DL and activate Erik Aybar, who's been out with a heel injury.

RED SOX: Right-handed reliever Daniel Bard has been optioned to Double-A after spending only four days with the Red Sox. Though being with the major league club for four days, he only appeared in two games as he allowed one run on two walks and one hit while striking out one.

CARDINALS: Left-hander Marc Rzepczynski has been optioned by the St. Louis Cardinals to Triple-A. The lefty, who arrived to St. Louis in a Blue Jays trade in mid-2011, had a poor April as he allowed seven runs on 13 hits in eight innings.

ORIOLES: With catcher Taylor Teagarden out with a fractured thumb, the Orioles have aquired Chris Snyder from the Angels for reliever Rob Delaney. Snyder, who has been in the league for eight years now, was batting .342 with seven home runs and 21 RBIs with Los Angeles’ Triple-A team. Snyder will serve the back-up role as Matt Wieters will be the starting catcher.

In other news, Freddy Garcia has agreed to stay at Norfolk through May 14 rather than to opt out of his current deal, reports MASNSports’ Roch Kubatko. Garcia was released by the Padres due to a poor Spring Training. So far this season, he has a 2.67 ERA and 21/2 K/BB ratio over 33 2/3 innings at Triple-A.

WHITE SOX: John Dank is set to begin his rehab assignment on Thursday at Double-A Birmingham. The left-hander, who signed a five-year, $65 million contract extension in December of 2011 with the White Sox, has been recovering from a shoulder surgery that he had in August.

The White Sox also have acquired Casper Wells from the Athletics for cash considerations. Wells has been with multiple teams so far this year. First, he failed to earn a roster spot with the Mariners as he was designated for assignment. Toronto claimed Wells, however, the Athletics would acquire him for cash considerations. Though he didn't spend much time as he was designate for assignment on Sunday when Yoenis Cespedes was activated for the DL.

REDS: Outfielder Chris Heisey has landed on the disabled list with a strained right hamstring. In 23 games this season, Heisey is posting a .173 batting average with 2 homers and 5 RBI's. He joins outfielder Ryan Ludwick on the disabled list as well.

NATIONALS: Washington activated Wilson Ramos from the disabled as he has been out with an injured hamstring.

MARINERS: Seattle also has activated outfielder Michael Saunders from the DL after missing two-and-a-half weeks with a sprained right shoulder.

CUBS: Closer Kyuji Fujikawa will begin his minor league rehab assignment on Sunday after throwing 32 pitches in the bullpen on Monday. Kujikawa, who will have another bullpen session on Thursday before going to Iowa, strained his right forearm.

DODGERS: Hanley Ramirez, who kicked off the season on the DL, has been activated from the 15-day disabled list while left-hander Clayton Kershaw was placed on the bereavement list. Hanley repaired a torn thumb ligament on March 22nd. Hanley went 3-for-6 with a double and three RBI during a two-game rehab assignment with Triple-A Albuquerque.
