The Detroit Tigers were able to have a good Easter Sunday as they were able to win the rubber match game in their series with the Los Angeles Angels with a 2-1 victory.

The Angels started the scoring early when second baseman Howie Kendrick was able to drive in Albert Pujols with a two out double to take the early 1-0 lead. From that point on though, it was all Detroit after pitcher Rick Porcello was able to settle in.

The Tigers got their first run on a play full of errors:

With one out and Ian Kinsler on first base, Miguel Cabrera was walked during his at bat. On ball four however, Kinsler was running on either a hit-and-run or an attempt to steal second. Either way, it paid off.

Kinsler's attempt forced Angels catcher Hank Conger to throw to second to try and get Kinsler out, only it was a wild throw and Kinsler was able to head to third with a throwing error being charged to Conger. While rounding third, Kinsler had a choice whether to stay there or keep going and try to take home. He kept going. Outfielder Mike Trout made a throwing error when he took his time throwing the ball back into the infield. When the ball landed in the infield, Angels picher Hector Santiago made a throwing error when he attempted to throw off Kinsler in the process. Out of all of this, Cabrera ended up on second on probably the craziest walk in recent years.

With the game tied up at 1, Tigers third baseman Nick Castellanos decided to break the tie with a two out single to bring Austin Jackson across the plates to break the tie and give the Tigers the 2-1 lead.

After seven strong innings pitched by Porcello, pitchers Ian Krol and Al Alberquerque were able to come in the 8th inning to hold the lead for closer Joe Nathan to get the save in the 9th to finish the deal.
