6:30 PM EST: The win for the Giants was an odd one because of Choate's error. In 14 seasons of play, Choate has just 5 errors. Is it fate for the Giants? Is this "win every two years" narrative actually coming true? The Giants will have to continue their success in Game 4.

6:23 PM EST: The Giants are also 14-5 at home in the NLCS, and on a 4-game wining streak at home. According to MLB.com, the Cardinals have the third-worst winning percentage on the road in the NLCS, at 13-25. 70 percent of their postseason runs have come in the seventh inning or later.

6:21 PM EST: Bochy has been known in 2010 and 2012 to have a really short leash with all of his pitchers. The Giants are lucky to have a group of 4 that can get through any situation in any game. That four is Sergio Romo, Santiago Casilla, Javier Lopez, and Jeremy Afeldt. "Those guys have been through it. They’re pros,” Bochy said. “They’re not going to be afraid out there. It’s not like their pitch count was out of hand, either, and they know how to adjust.”

6:20 PM EST: A key for the Giants is their bullpen. In wins, the bullpen, and pitching altogether for that matter, is lights out. The Giants pitching staff is what got them 2 World Series wins in the last 5 years, and has gotten them to the NLCS in 2014. "They've been huge for us," Posey said about the Giants' bullpen. "There's definitely a good feeling knowing they've been in these situations a lot and come through for us."

6:15 PM EST: "We don't focus on personal records or team records," Pablo Sandoval said. "We focus on winning. The record? It doesn't matter. What's important is winning games in the postseason."

6:11 PM EST: "We're still confident that we can take this, and we're going to keep pushing," said Kolten Wong.

6:10 PM EST: For the Cardinals to win Game 4, and the series, a lot has to come down to hitting. The long ball is working well for the Cardinals, where they have hit 5 this series and 12 in the postseason. This can only go so far. The Cardinals will have to get a string of hits together to knock in some runs. Hitting just home runs doesn't get you far, ask the Orioles and Tigers

5:30 PM EST: Miller was also interviewed about not having his star catcher."A.J. [Pierzynski] and Tony [Cruz] are guys that have been around for a while. Especially A.J., he knows a lot of these hitters, and same with Tony. I know Tony works a lot with Yadi on video. You know, you trust in those guys. The same way you would with Yadi, you've got to believe in those guys and how much they work and that they are going to do their job. We as a team believe in those guys, too."

5:00 PM EST: Before game 3, infielder Mark Ellis talked about losing Molina. "Obviously it's a big loss, but we spent some time without him this year and we're fortunate to have A.J. and Tony, who are two really good players. We're lucky to have them but I feel bad for Yadi because this is what he worked for the whole year and he's not able to be with us."

4:35 PM EST: The Cardinals also lost catcher Yadier Molina, which is a huge loss of hope for winning.

4:30 PM EST: In Game 3, the Giants knocked on 4 runs in the first inning. They then scored the game-winning run on an error.

4:10 PM EST: Shelby Miller had a record of 10-9 in 2014 along with a 3.74 ERA. Miller also had some success in the postseason this year in the NLDS. Miller pitched 5 innings giving up 5 hits, 2 runs, and 2 earned runs.

4:05 PM EST: Ryan Vogelsong had a record of 8-13 in 2014 along with a 4.00 ERA. At home, Vogelsong's ERA was 3.06 and on the road it was over 5. Luckily for him, the Giants are at home for Game 4 and he'll be in a comfortable atmosphere. Vogelsong has had postseason success, this season and in the Giants' 2012 run. Vogelsong went 3-0 in the 2012 postseason, with under a 2 ERA. In the NLDS, Vogelsong pitched 5 innings giving up 2 hits and 1 run.

4:00 PM EST: The San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals square off tonight in the 4th game of the National League Championship Series. Pitching in tonight's matchup for the Giants is Ryan Vogelsong, and for the Cardinals Shelby Miller.
