The Philadelphia Eagles despite their 4-1 record and first place in the NFC East continue to have offensive problems. LeSean McCoy who was last years rushing champion has gotten off to a mediocre start with 273 yards in 94 carries. Nobody can blame the offensive line being banged up either. If that truly were the problem Sproles wouldn't be having the same success. Darren Sproles who has half the yards Shady does but has be given far less touches. Last year the Eagles had the only offense line to have the same guys start all the games but through the first couple weeks they lost Evan Mathis, Jason Kelce, and Lane Johnson. The Eagles running game needs to be dramatically improved in a hurry.

Nick Foles, who gave the Eagles above and beyond last year.  He led them to the playoffs and had with a QBR above 100. All that is great, but every Eagles fan isn't living in the past, instead everyone cares how he plays now and what he's been doing isn't sufficient. Beating the Rams 34-17 going into the 4th quarter the Eagles seemed to be in an excellent spot. Unfortunately the Eagles offense scored 0 4th quarter points and there were some nervous stomachs in Philadelphia when the Rams were given the ball back down six with 45 seconds left. Foles who barley threw any interceptions last year already has 5 this year. His QBR in 2014 is 82.5, which is 23rd in the NFL. Basically, the Eagles passing game along with the running game is just barely doing enough.

The Eagles haven't had any clear wins in any of their first five games. With the 3-2 New York Giants coming up on Sunday night it is going to be a dog fight. The Giants have won their last three games and have more than enough targets passing the ball in Reuben Randle, Victor Cruz, and Odell Beckham Jr. If the Eagles don't improve their current offensive state this writer doesn't see a deep playoff run if any playoffs at all. McCoy and Foles both need to step up their game and start putting the ball in the end zone or else the Birds may be up for a rude awakening.
