Several veteran Atlanta Falcons players returned from injuries Tuesday morning and were limited in practice. Second round pick Jalen Collins was able to participate in practice after having been nursing an ankle injury since OTA's had begun. Safety William Moore (shoulder), linebacker Brooks Reed (hamstring), center/guard Joe Hawley (knee), tackle Jake Matthews (foot), and guard/center Peter Konz (knee) all took part in the practice. Falcons head coach Dan Quinn said that right guard Jon Asamoah substained an ankle and was kept inside for today. Linebacer Marquis Spruill is recovering from knee surgery, so he did not practice. Guard/tackle Sam Baker and cornerback Dezmen Southward also did not participate in the practice. Here are five other observations from the team's latest practice:

1. Matthews returns and is looking good

Left tackle Jake Matthews was moving very fluently at practice. Matthews had lisfranc surgery during the offseason, which is the reason he was sitting out for most of the team's OTA's. He was lined up as the second left tackle behind Lamar Holmes

2. Vic Beasley injured

Vic Beasley was held out a few drills because of an apparant shoulder strain. The Falcons are being very precautious with him as they want to see him healthy on the field. Bryan Cox said Vic Beasley's strengths that showed up on tape—first step, athleticism, ability to close—are visible here at OTA's.

3. Ricardo Allen starting at Free Saftey

Ricardo Allen who is converting from cornerback to saftey, took first team reps ahead of Charles Godfrey who was listed as a favorite to start this season. He played alongside of Godfrey and Kemal Ishmael who were both rotating at strong safety. Starting strong safety William Moore participated in drills but mostly watched during 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills.

4. Drones or no drones?

The Falcons were rumored to be experimenting with drones to enhance the ability to see every aspect of practice to help with film. Head coach Quinn quickly dismissed these rumors as he said that the team will not be using drones this year, however.

5. Joe Hawley returns

Joe Hawley participated in practice today as he continues to recover from his ACL/MCL tear that he suffered in the 2014 season. Hawley worked as the third team center with James Stone and Valerian Ume-Ezeoke ahead of him taking first team and second team reps.  Hawley appeared to move well but it is clear that he is still adjusting to the pace of practice.
