The United States are the last representative of CONCACAF left in the Copa America Centenario, and that is important for Jurgen Klinsmann as his side look to shock the world on home turf.

After Costa Rica failed to qualify from Group A, the same group as the United States, and Jamaica crashed out of Group C, the hosts and Mexico were two teams looking to reach the semi-finals.

Tale of Two Teams

The US met Ecuador in Seattle and were impressive as they beat the South American side, 2-1. Despite a red card for Jermaine Jones and a few yellows that will have a big impact in their semi-final, Klinsmann's side were clinical in attack and solid at the back.

The win sees the United States reach their first Copa America semi-final since 1995 and with Klinsmann facing some pressure in recent months, the achievement is huge for the team and for the sport's popularity in the US. As soccer continues to grow all over the country, the United States reaching a major semi-final on home soil could be monumental, especially with their opponents being Argentina and Lionel Messi.

It will be some spectacle for fans all over the US to witness their team face the world's number one ranked team for a spot in the final.

Mexico were expected to impress in the tournament and they did, earning a quarter-final matchup with Chile. On a 22-match unbeaten run dating back 364 days, some predicted Mexico to beat the reigning champions but a hugely disappointing performance leaves the Mexican national team reeling. Chile's 7-0 win on Saturday night leaves the United States as the last member of CONCACAF in this summer's tournament.

Mexico's games drew some of the biggest crowds throughout the tournament and their demise at the hands of Chile will have huge implications for both them and the US.

Their exit gives Klinsmann's side the title of being the most successful CONCACAF team this summer, while Mexico will have plenty to look into as to why they suffered such a big loss in the quarter final of a major tournament.

A Chance for the US?

There is a chance for the United States to reach the final this summer, but they'll have to go through the favorites, Argentina. No matter the result on Tuesday night, the US have bounced back from their opening game loss to Colombia and impressed plenty of people on their way to the semi-final. They'll have to deal with Messi but as the last team left from their confederation, they have plenty to be proud of.
