How does Laos arrive ?

Laos have not won an official match for five years, in the AFC Solidaratt Cup after winning the third-place play-off against Brunei. In the World Cup qualifiers, they lost in the play-off against Bangladesh after losing at home and drawing in the second leg. In the first match of the Suzuki Cup they lost to Vietnam 2-0 and are currently bottom of the group so a win against Malaysia is a must.

How does Malaysia arrive ?

The Malaysian national team comes after being left out of the World Cup in Qatar, which was held in 2002. They did not qualify for the third round after finishing third in the group with 12 points, only the first team qualified directly for the third round and five runners-up out of eight.  The Malaysian team won 1-3 against Cambodia thanks to goals from Rasid, Rashid and Kogileswaran. They are currently the leaders of Group B, where only the top two teams in each group will qualify for the semifinals;
