The Phoenix Suns announced Thursday that they have assigned second-year guard Archie Goodwin, and rookies T.J. Warren and Tyler Ennis to the team's D-League affiliate. The three youngsters are expected to be called back up on December 31st, when the Suns face the Oklahoma City Thunder in OKC.

T.J. Warren is averaging 4.2 points per game in only 10 minutes, while Goodwin and Ennis are each seeing about eight minutes of playing time per game. They average 3.5 and 3.7 points, respectively. This will be Warren and Ennis' second stint in the D-League this season. In two previous games with the Bakersfield Jam, Warren averaged 36 points per game on 61 percent shooting. Ennis added 22 points per game and shot over 50 percent from the floor. This will be Archie Goodwin's first stint this year.

This is an interesting move for the Suns, who traded Anthony Tolliver just about 24 hours ago to the Detroit Pistons for, essentially, cap space. This leaves the Suns with only 11 active players on the roster. This array of moves by Phoenix puts them in position to make a big time trade, sooner rather than later.

"The thought process is to try to put ourselves in the mix to add a big player via trade," Suns General Manager Ryan McDonough said after trading veteran power forward Anthony Tolliver. "We want to be aggressive and active. We want to solidify ourselves as a playoff team. The flexibility would allow us more wiggle room to make a trade."
