Both Baker Mayfield and Phillip Rivers throw two interceptions in a mistake-riddled second half in Cleveland. Miles Garrett and the Browns defence gets all the credit as they stood up and performed when the offensive wheels came off in the second half.

Cleveland move up to 4-1 and the Colts a humbling 3-2

  • First half with both Quarterbacks starting strong.

The Browns start off strong as they usually do, with Baker Mayfield finding Jarvis Landry and Tight End Austin Hooper for a combined 51 yards. The Colts defence, however, will not be stopped and forces a three and out in the red zone. The field goal is good, and it is 3-0 Browns.

The Colts would come out with a history of good opening drive success themselves this season and did not disappoint with Phillip Rivers Starting his 229th consecutive game as a starting quarterback. Down in the red zone at a fourth and two. Some clever misdirection gets Johnathan Taylor in for an untouched touchdown. Taylors third of the season. Nine plays 4.27 72 yards—efficient stuff from the Colts.

The Browns get the ball back, Mayfield uses his entire arsenal to carry the offence on his shoulders with a spin-out left play action, two plays for a combined 49 yards in the first quarter.

Browns using Landry and Austin Hooper's security for passage down the field again Mayfield tries to go for a QB keeper but is tackled in the open field. The Browns decide to go for it on fourth down and get a three-yard completion to Odell Beckham Jr. End of the first quarter with Browns in prime scoring position.

Mayfield uses some his pure brilliance, innovation creating space and time, and evading pressure on the play he spots Kareem Hunt in the endzone to take the lead in Cleveland.

Rivers driving down with the Colts looking to take the lead with a highlight play going deep to Ashton Dulin for a 34-yard grab. Third and three but Rivers must get rid of it as Garrett goes for the sack, and a 32-yard field goal attempt for rookie Rodrigo Blankenship to tie it up at ten apiece.

Mayfield firing on all cylinders with a massive 26-yard throw to Beckham Jr he comes down with the catch but the colts challenge for a second time, the first was with a failed challenge on a Kareen Hunt fumble (ruling stayed as Hunt was down) and Rivers used one 1st quarter 7.53 to go. The second challenge was also failed, no timeouts left for the Colts with 7.26 left in the second quarter. Could be a big mistake from Head Coach Frank Reich.

Mayfield shows why he is a former number one pick as he throws a 15-yard dart to Rashard Higgins for the score. Many have said the Browns QB needed to start airing it out, and he is doing just that.

Browns get the ball back following a Colts three and out. Mayfield uses the opportunity to grab a field goal before the half runs out. Number six has been shouldering the offence today, as Kareem Hunt only has 16 yards, but Mayfield threw for 18/24 216 yards two touchdowns in the FIRST HALF. This is more yardage Mayfield had all last week.

20-10 Cleveland end of half.

Second half and the wheels fall off.

The Colts were hoping to get back on the right track, but the Browns start off perfectly after Rivers throws his first interception looking for T.Y Hilton and Ronnie Harrison takes it back 47 yards for six.

That would not be the only big play in what is a crazy fifteen minutes for both quarterbacks and when you want a response look to special teams, a 101-yard kick-off return touchdown by Isaiah Rodgers his first return touchdown in the NFL.

With the Colts having some much-needed momentum Mayfield does not shoulder the pressure well as he throws a nasty pick aiming for Hooper, Bobby Okereke with the grab for the Colts. With the momentum the Colts shave five minutes to run the ball down the field, they cannot convert it for six as Cleveland's red zone defence is reliable and will settle for three as Blankenship drives the field goal straight down the middle, to make it a seven-point game.

With the takeover drive from the Colts field goal Mayfield and company trying to push on further as they grind out all of the reminding time in the third quarter, but unfortunately punt early in the fourth this is the Browns first punt today, in the fourth quarter.

With the punt, the Colts are forced down onto there own ten-yard line. Rivers drops back but must throw it away. The referees call it as Intentional grounding, and as Rivers was in the Colts end zone, it is a safety to the Browns. Crazy, Rivers is pleading his case but to no avail. Another two points for the Browns. 29-20

Rivers and the Colts try and put pressure onto the Browns following a Browns three and out. But Sheldrick Redwine comes across and picks it off. Rivers second interception of the day. The veteran Quarterback has not looked comfortable all game with pressure from sack leader Miles Garrett.

Nobody wants the ball as Mayfield's torrid second half continues as in three plays, he is sacked by Okereke and picked off by Anthony Walker. Not Mayfield's brightest moment.

Following the second interception thrown by Mayfield, Indianapolis pushed for an attempt to grab some much-needed points and make this game closer than it should be, Rivers and company cannot get into the end zone and Blankenship bolts it down for three. All pressure on Number six. 2.50 left.

Running game to the rescue.

Cleveland had the ball on their own four-yard line, and huge runs by Kareen Hunt (11) and D'earnest Johnson (24) allows the ball onto the Colts 28-yard line. Cody Parkey kicks the 46-yard field goal and wins the game.

Indianapolis Colts 23-32 Cleveland Browns

Last time the Browns were 4-1 Bill Bellicheck was the head coach, and it was 1994, a long slog today from the Browns, and it wasn't perfect, but the defence got it done today the pressure in Rivers face he couldn't handle it and made mistakes. Four straight wins must feel good; however, it comes.
