Life or death match

Nigeria, which is in the first place of group C with 12 points and Cape Verde, is in the second position of the same group with 10 points.

Nigeria will host Cape Verde knowing that a draw will be enough to secure their advancement to the next qualifying round for the World Cup.

However, it will be the Cape Verdeans who prevail in Group C if they can defeat their rivals in Lagos.

News from Cape Verde

While for Cape Verde, coach Bubista will take a similar approach to his rival, potentially making just one team change or using some tactical variant for this match.

Willy Semedo could get the go-ahead to start Dylan Tavares after replacing him at halftime against the Central African Republic.

News from Nigeria

Coach Rohr is unlikely to make many changes to his starting eleven for this match after his win over Liberia.

Chidera Ejuke replaced Alex Iwobi shortly after the first hour of that game and it seems more likely that he will stay on the substitute bench for today.

Musa is also pushing for Iheanacho to have contributed during the last match, we'll see what the coach of Nigeria decides.

Key player of Nigeria

The young Nigerian Wilfred Ndidi is the current conductor of Leicester City. Since his arrival at the English club, he has managed to become an essential player in the starting line-ups of the British city center team.
He is a young player, with extraordinary physical qualities. It was the answer to the emptiness that N'Golo left after his departure to Chelsea.

This is how Cape Verde arrives

Since a 2-1 loss to Nigeria in September, the Cape Verdean National Team has achieved three consecutive victories, each by one goal difference.

Coach Bubista's team came from behind to prevail in two of those games, performances that have kept their dream of qualifying for the FIFA World Cup for the first time alive.

The goals have been shared by the entire Cape Verde squad and only Julio Tavares has scored twice in their Group C matches. While Nigeria comes as favorites for the match, it would be naive to rule out Cape Verde's chances.

This is how Nigeria arrives

Given the quality of their players, Gernot Rohr would have hoped that Nigeria had already qualified for the top 10 of the African tie with one match to go. However, the late 1-0 loss at home to the Central African Republic on matchday three meant there was no margin for error after opening the group with two wins.

Nigeria after that unexpected defeat have recorded another six points to stay ahead of their next rivals within the group. They defeated Liberia 2-0 last Saturday and it looked like a comfortable victory, but Nigeria relied on penalties from Victor Osimhen and Ahmed Musa to claim victory in Morocco.

Victor Osimhen now has three goals in this knockout stage heading to Qatar 2022, taking a step forward at a time when Kelechi Iheanacho has not scored since the start.

The match will be played at Teslim Balogun Stadium

Tomorrow afternoon from Lagos, Nigeria, this match corresponding to the Qualifiers will be played towards the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

The Teslim Balogun Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium located in Lagos, Nigeria. It is currently used primarily for football matches and serves as the home field of First Bank FC. The stadium seats 24,325 people and sits next to the Lagos National Stadium. It was completed in 2007, took 23 years to build, and cost more than $ 1.3 million. Started in 1984 under the administration of the military governor Gbolahan Mudasiru, construction continued to stagnate under military regimes and the stadium was turned into a white elephant. In 2006, homeless people and children lived in the facility area. In 2009 the stadium was used to host the 2009 U-17 Soccer World Cup.
