Jordan Guivin, a 24-year-old midfielder who performed well in Peruvian soccer and played for Universidad San Martín and Cienciano, is now playing for Toros de Celaya and is on his way to his first title. In a team video, they highlighted the Peruvian player's performance and pointed out his virtues.

"Jordan Guivin, on his own, has had a great performance with Club Celaya in his first Liga Expansion MX tournament. At 24 years of age, the Peruvian holding midfielder has stood out for his ability and technique with the ball at his feet. Just a few months ago he was unquestionable in his country's U-23 process towards the Olympic Games," the video mentions.

The board of directors of the Liga de Expansión MX informed that two fans of Cancún FC were sent to the Public Prosecutor's Office after being detected shouting discriminatory cries during the first leg of the quarterfinals. According to the press release, both fans were detected by security agents at the Andres Quintana Roo stadium, when they were shouting at the visiting goalkeeper.

Federico Vilar, coach of Cancún FC, admitted that it will not be easy to reach the semifinals, aware that his team has to go out to die to come back from 1-0 down and reach the semifinals, the Argentinean said that it will be enough to be more accurate to achieve the goal. 

"We have enough arguments to get a good result," he emphasized. 

Cancun FC visited the facilities of the Aitana Foundation to spend time together and hand out toys on the occasion of Children's Day.
Goalkeeper Antonio Monterde and African midfielder, Abdoul Kairou Amoustapha, went on behalf of the institution, to sign and take pictures with the children and staff of the foundation, respectively.

"Many of our children love soccer and now they have the opportunity to spend time with the team. Cancun is a tourist place, where many people come, but also in our society there are many needs, things we must do, such as sports and health, among others," said Yusi Dzib.

Celaya will host La Ola Futbolera at the Miguel Alemán Valdés stadium, where the team coached by Israel Hernández will be looking to finish the job to advance to the Semifinal, while the team coached by Federico Vilar needs to win by two goals if they want to stay alive.

The designated center referee is Juan Andrés Esquivel González, the standard bearers will be Sandra Elizabeth Ramírez Alemán and Heder Adán Trujillo Escareño, and the fourth official will be Héctor Salvador Solorio Arreola.

Following the results of Saturday's matches, Toros de Celaya will face Cimarrones de Sonora, who advanced to the semifinals after eliminating Alebrijes de Oaxaca 1-0 on aggregate, in the second leg of a 0-0 draw.
 

Celaya last triumphed on November 17, 2021, in a 3-1 win at the Miguel Alemán Valdés with goals from Ricardo Marín, Fernando Illescas, Leobardo López and Adán Zaragoza. So they have the numbers in their favor.

The president of Club Celaya, Carlos Benavides, mentioned that the club will not move and that there was no approach from any businessman for the team to leave the stadium. 

"I don't know whether to say I'm sorry or angry, it's normal when the tournament is ending to start talking about a change or sale, I have come firmly to develop this tournament, we want Celaya to be a model agent and that can't be done from one day to the next," he said.

Celaya are coming off a narrow win over CF Mérida on the last day of the regular season, finishing in third place with 30 points.
On the other hand, Cancún lost 1-0 to Leones negros in the last round and in the playoffs they went all the way to penalties, beating Tepatitlán de Morelos 4-1 after tying 2-2 in regular time.

Cancun FC recently clarified that the two fans who made discriminatory chants during the match against Celaya last Thursday were removed from the Quintana Roo Stadium, however, clarified that they were not referred to the Public Prosecutor's Office, as stated by Liga BBVA Expansión MX.

"We make it generally known that indeed two people who did not comply with the regulations set by the Mexican Football Federation by making the homophobic shout, were identified and taken to the stadium offices where they were explained the offense committed, so they were invited to leave the stadium peacefully. They were not at any time referred to the Public Prosecutor's Office," Cancún FC wrote in a press release.

Diego Rafael Jiménez is the club's main striker this season, scoring 5 goals in 1195 minutes played.
 

Daniel Yair Delgadillo has scored 5 goals in 1119 minutes, making him a main threat up front.
