Everton's on-loan winger Aaron Lennon has publicly thanked manager Roberto Martinez for re-building his confidence during his loan spell with the Toffees during the second-half of the 2014-15 campaign.

The 28-year-old winger can only watch from the dugout during the Toffees' final match of the season this Sunday, as Roberto Martinez's men play against his parent club Tottenham at Goodison Park. He'll go back to north London with Spurs afterwards, but his future is still unclear. However, according to reports, Lennon would be open to a permanent move with the Blues.

Speaking to the LiverpoolEcho, he said: "It's been brilliant [to work with Martinez]. Obviously, it was a tough start to the season for me when I wasn't playing, but, from the first moment the gaffer called me, I couldn't wait to work with him and he's done nothing but impress me since I've been here. The way he wants to play, the confidence he has shown in me and the confidence he's given me has been unbelievable.

I've loved it from the first moment I arrived here - everyone has been brilliant, I've settled in and it's been great to get some football as well. I think it's gone well. As I have got fitter, my game has improved as well and I've managed to chip in with a few goals at quite important times. When you look around the dressing room here, there is quality everywhere. At Spurs, we always had tough games against Everton, but I've seen the quality right the way through the squad - even from players who haven't been playing.

Lennon scored twice, created 14 chances and completed 255 successful passes in the 1,068 minutes he's played for Everton in 2015 (courtesy: Squawka), and although they are interested in signing him permanently, they will not be held to pay a more-than-reasonable fee for a player on his final year of his current contract with Spurs.
