Yeah that really wasn't great for Leicester but for Brighton, they'll be thrilled to have scored a great point on the road. That's now four points from six having beaten Arsenal last time out.

FT There goes the final whistle. That was a bit drab, wasn't it? Maupay's penalty miss proves costly for Brighton, whilst Leicester are somewhat fortunate to escape with a point.

Leicester City 0-0 Brighton & Hove Albion

90+3' Surely a penalty for Leicester? Vardy heads towards goal and it clearly strikes Dunk's arm but neither the referee or VAR are interested.

Leicester City 0-0 Brighton & Hove Albion

45+1' Six minutes stoppage time as Leicester have a free-kick on the right. It's a low one and pings around in the Brighton box, with Iheanacho, Ndidi and Soyuncu all having a bite but the Turk eventually stoops low to head wide.
17:455 months ago

Leicester City 0-0 Brighton & Hove Albion

44' That's another wonderful chance for Brighton. The corner is cleared but played back in towards Dunk who looks like he's got an easy header but Justin does just enough at the back post to clear.

40' What on Earth was that? Brighton stopper Ryan has a throw but lamps it straight at the floor. Vardy picks it up but can't quite get control of it. That would have been laughable if Leicester took the lead.

Leicester City 0-0 Brighton & Hove Albion

36' A booking for Brighton now. Dale Stephens dives in on Mendy. Looked slightly high but the Frenchman is okay so no further punishment.

34' Booking for Leicester. Wilfred Ndidi earns a caution for a lunging tackle on Lamptey. Seemed fair to me.

34' Brighton appear to be targeting James Justin here. Connolly's pace is causing him real problems.
17:295 months ago

Leicester City 0-0 Brighton & Hove Albion

27' That's great defending from Soyuncu. Connolly who is troubling the Foxes backline so far jinks beyond Evans, opens up his body and looks sure to score but the Turk sticks out a great toe.

Brendan Rodgers on the upcoming clash

Elsewhere, Brendan Rodgers has highlighted how crucial it is for his side to win today’s match in the context of their Champions League place. He said: “It’s important, but they’re all important, but we’ll make our assessment at the end of the season. We got off to a decent start, now we’ve got a chance to pick up three points and we have to be hungry for that. Two big games but you can only look at your next game."

Graham Potter on Leicester

With both sides at opposite ends of the table, Potter is fully aware of the challenge that is facing his side in the East Midlands today. Talking of the Foxes, he said: “[They’re a] very good, very organised, a very powerful side.

"[They have] great experience plus some younger players with not just potential but who can affect the top end of the Premier League at the moment.

"They are third on merit. They can attack you in a lot of ways and are defensively really strong."

Brighton & Hove Albion Team News

Seagulls boss Graham Potter has already suggested that he could be tempted to rotate his team having only taken on Arsenal on Saturday. However, the Englishman is not set to be forced into changes with just Steven Alzate and Jose Izquierdo restricted to the sidelines.

Leicester City Team News

The Foxes could be boosted by a couple of significant returnees for the visit of Brighton. Midfielder Dennis Praet missed the clash at Vicarage Road but should be fit for this particular clash, whilst forward Ayoze Perez is back in contention. The two long-term absentees Daniel Amartey and Ricardo Pereira are still out so James Justin will continue to deputise at right-back following his great showing at Vicarage Road.

Tough trip?

It’s not going to be any easier for Brighton in Leicester either. The Seagulls have only ever won twice at the King Power Stadium, but their last was memorable – a 4-1 thumping to ensure Leicester’s promotion party fell flat. Intriguingly, future Fox Leonardo Ulloa scored twice that day!

What happened last time?

It seems some time ago that the Foxes and Seagulls squared off at the AMEX Stadium. However, travelling to the South Coast back  in November, Brendan Rodgers’ troops put in a stunning counter-attacking show to seal victory. A goal from Ayoze Perez and a Jamie Vardy penalty saw them victorious for the second consecutive season.

Post-lockdown drama

Both sides returned to league action in dramatic fashion at the weekend. The Foxes travelled to Vicarage Road, with Ben Chilwell netting a wonderful strike before Hornets man Craig Dawson scored a brilliant goal of his own to deny the visitors. Elsewhere, Brighton sealed a great victory against Arsenal, with Neal Maupay scoring a late winner.
