Crystal Palace 0-0 Leeds United: Mateta misses two huge chances early on!

FT That is the end and Leeds, who showed very little in the way of attack, will be most satisfied with a point. The Whites move four points clear of the relegation zone and look OK for a third Premier League season.

Palace will rue the missed chances. Mateta had two early in the first half and Olise was excellent when he came on. The Londoners are now four matches without a win, but look fine to stay up.

It loops up and goes just wide.

He gets a good deal of power on it, but it lacks direction as it's straight at Meslier.

79' Eze sees his free-kick cleared, but it drops to Gallagher, who, despite the difficult height, volleys just over the bar.

77' The Leeds defender is booked for tugging on Zaha's shirt, giving the hosts a free-kick in a dangerous position.

76' Palace work a short corner that falls to Ward and he curls his effort into the far corner from 25 yards away just wide.

72' Olise is the engine of the Palace squad now and he again plays in Gallagher. He takes a while to sort his feet out which results in his shot being blocked away.

Llorente's challenge is clumsy but he just gets a touch on the ball. VAR has a check, but it's just a corner for Palace, which comes to nothing.

68' Olise gets straight into the action and his cross finds Zaha. He cuts inside on his right foot and tries his luck, but Meslier handles.

67' Michael Olise comes on for Jordan Ayew and will play on the right wing.

66' Zaha crosses into the box and Mateta gets across his man, but the Frenchman can't keep his effort down.

62' A lovely turn by Zaha as he gets into the penalty area, but his cross is sub-standard and cleared with ease.

59' The Whites make their second change as Mason Greenwood comes on for Dan James.

59' Good spell of possession by Leeds, which ends when Dallas tries his luck from 25 yards out, but is nowhere close. 

54' The leading scorer for the London outfit never looked likely to add his to tally after going well over the bar from the edge of the box.

50' James comes flying across and catches Ward late.

A brief scuffle breaks out, and James is eventually booked for his tackle. Ward is also booked for his reaction to the challenge.

46' Leeds start the half well as Raphinha bursts into the box but the Palace defender does well to keep up with him and the shot is eventually blocked away.

As the second half starts, the visitors make a change as Robin Koch replaces Mateusz Klich.

HT No goals in a thoroughly entertaining first half.

Palace have clearly had the better of the play, but Mateta failing to convert on either of his chances means we have no goals to speak of yet.

Leeds will be satisfied they have managed to hold out despite offering very little going forward.

45' Rodrigo takes the ball away from Joachim Andersen and the Eagles' center-back is shown a yellow card.

42' Zaha tries to get away from Raphinha, but he catches the Brazilian in the face with his hand. 

The Palace frontman protests his innocence, but his hand was raised, and Leeds are awarded a free-kick.

40' Leeds' final ball has not been good enough so far, and Dallas is the latest culprit. Finding some space down the left, he looks up but can only put his cross out for a goal-kick.

34' More free-kicks for the Eagles now and Eze delivers in that Mateta gets a head to, but Meslier easily saves.

32' After Cooper fouls Zaha again, the hosts have a free-kick in a very dangerous position. Gallagher works his way into the box, Marc Guehi miscues his effort, before Eberechi Eze has a go, but his shot is blocked away.

27' Cooper gets a header on target, but the Eagles goalkeeper comfortably saves.

26' Harrison blasts a cross into the box and it hits McArthur in the arm. However, England concludes he couldn't get his arm out of the way and the penalty shout is waved off.

22' First good bit of attacking play by Leeds as Dan James as he gets in down the right. The ball is worked back to Jack Harrison, but James McArthur gets in the way to block the shot.

19' The ball bounces between the Leeds defender and Gallagher and the Eagles man gets there first.

It looks a clumsy challenge by Cooper, but referee Darren England decides to keep his cards in his pocket.

15' Palace continues to have the better of the play as Conor Gallagher plays a ball over the top to Jordan Ayew.

The cross is lovely and finds it way to Mateta, but the Frenchman puts his close-range effort wide after being under pressure from Meslier and Diego Llorente.

11' Some neat play down the right by the hosts means the ball eventually finds Nathaniel Clyne. 

He sends in a cross that Zaha gets to first, but his header is looped straight to Meslier.

8' A hard foul there by Luke Ayling as he takes out Wilfred Zaha on the left flank.

4' A nice long ball over the top finds Jean-Philippe Mateta, but he can't knock the ball past Ilian Meslier with any power and it is easily cleared away.

Nathan Ferguson is sidelined for the Eagles with a hamstring issue after suffering an initial knee injury.

Michael Olise suffered a foot injury against Newcastle and is a doubt to feature here. Jordan Ayew will take his place on the right.

Luka Milivojevic missed out against Newcastle with a thigh injury and may also not feature here.

Adam Forshaw has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after suffering a knee injury in training.

Patrick Bamford is still sidelined with a ruptured foot he injured against Wolves.

Tyler Roberts continues his rehab from surgery he had on a ruptured hamstring tendon he suffered in March.

Manager Jesse Marsch confirmed that midfielder Kalvin Phillips will start while Junior Firpo is also in contention for a place in the squad.

Patrick Vieira's side have dropped three matches in a row, defeats to Leicester City and Newcastle United coming either side of an FA Cup semifinal loss to Chelsea.

Since being appointed boss at Elland Road on February 28th, Jesse Marsch has lifted Leeds into 16th, picking up three wins out of six matches under his watch.
