22-year-old Hamburg born striker Demirovic joined Spanish side Alaves back in 2017 but his time with the Basque club has offered very little.

Spending time on loan with three different sides during his time at the Mendizorrotza with Sochaux, Almeria and St Gallen, the youngster will now be hoping to find settled football in the Bundesliga.

Completed a move worth £3.33m, Demirovic will now leave Alaves after making just six first team appearances in which he found the back of the net on four occasions.

With the sale of Demirovic for a good price, Alaves will undoubtedly be looking to make a number of signings, having finished a lowly 16th in the La Liga table last term.

The Basque outfit will have to address the vacant managerial role before they begin preparations, however, having seen Asier Garitano relieved of his duties towards the end of the 2019/20 campaing.

Pablo Machin replaces Asier Garitano

Juan Ramon Lopez Muniz took over for the final four games of the season from Garitano but that ended up being nothing more than a temporary role.

And, it has now been announced that former Girona manager Pablo Machin, who has left Chinese club Qingdao Huanghui, has been appointed the club's new manager.
