Domenico Berardi's agent Simone Seghedoni has said that there is a 'verbal agreement' in place for the €25 million transfer of Beradi to Juventus from Sassuolo in June.
The 21-year-old striker has been linked to last season's Serie A champions for the best part of the campaign, but his agent had refused to say anything for certain after interest from other clubs - particularly Tottenham Hotspur of the Premier Leauge.
Seghedoni commented on the move, admitting that in "recent years", "everyone [has] said Domenico should go to Juventus", but had continued to insist that Berardi was a Sassuolo player.
An agreement in principle
However, the agent has now told tuttojuve.com that although it is "out of the question" that there is a written deal between any clubs, Sassuolo do have "verbal agreements, without anything written", suggesting that Juventus can sign Berardi this summer, to the tune of €25 million.
Despite being just 21-years-old, Berardi has already played over 100 games for Sassuolo, scoring 44 goals in the process. It is no wonder then that teams are circling for his signature, and Seghedoni is "not surprised at all by the English interest", saying that "there are lots of teams that have come to follow Dominic."
Beradi has also played 14 times for the Italian under-21 team, scoring three times. He impressed for the azzurrini during the European Under-21 Championship, scoring and assisting in the group stages of the competition - but unfortunately for his side, it wasn't enough to prgress.
Future development
It seems clear that if Berardi is to continue to grow and develop into a better player, all about him must evaluate his best options. For now Seghedoni seems sure that the player will remain at Sassuolo past the January window, but admits that it is "hard to predict what will happen in June".
Whether it be in the Premier League or in Serie A, we'll be sure to be hearing more about this young, talented striker in the near future.
